Yeah I agree I didn't explain myself properly. Yes, there will be lots of time before we get both but TF hinted at some progress that he couldn't share at that time regarding training ground and Stadium. I believe he has news on both and will announce something in the near future.

My point is that he wants a new dawn for QPR. He says he has learned by his mistakes and wants the job done properly. Please remember these guys are seriously wealthy and don't want to waste money. We all know he wants QPR to be a brand around the World. Above all, he wants us in the Prem to advertise Air Asia.

Take it from his position....You have news of the stadium/Training ground/new talented kids and your manager(the face of the club) is a bald 'carrot cruncher' who people don't take seriously. What would you do? Hollow doesn't fit their image. Add in his bizarre results/team selections, rants and league position and you get...

TF basically spelled it out to us recently. Hollow was only there for short term and not the future. A stopgap.

The big problem is that whoever we get is probably someone who has failed at another club. We tried getting a manager who had success with a lower club (JFH) and look how that ended up. Football management must be the only profession where you can be a failure throughout your career but still end up getting another job.

He was sacked wasnt he? That is what I read everywhere. Holloway was quoted as saying 6 May he wasn't going anywhere in a million years, and was up for discusing an extension to his contract, only for the Club to announce 4 days later he had gone. Seems pretty clear that.

Presumably he's had the final year of his contract paid up and that's that.

They tend to keep paying salary (without bonus of course) until the contract is finished, unless the sacked manager gets another job, when they stop paying, or unless they have agreed a pay off settlement in the contract. It’s like gardening leave, paid to do nothing. That’s why some managers disappear for ages after a sacking, because they are still being paid for ages if they have a long contract - Roberto di Matteo for example, was made Chelsea caretaker manager in March 2012, they won the Champions League and FA Cup that May, gave him a contract and sacked him in November 2012. He didn’t work again until October 2014, because there was no pay off clause and Chelsea had to pay him £130k a week until June 2014. So he got over half a million quid a month for 19 months for not working. Something just shy of £10m. In those circumstances I wouldn’t be down the job centre either. I doubt Holloway has a similar dilemma.

Presumably. Though I seem to remember Holloway saying around the time he was hired, something like he'd never take any pay off. Quite probably I'm recalling something out of context here.

I hope you are recalling out of context, it might have been related to Palace, when he walked away. Because in his profession anyone declining to be paid off would be an idiot, given the job security, or lack of it.

Only place I saw the words "sacked" was on the Sky Sports links - all the others said stuff like "leaving with immediate effect" - nothing about "mutual consent" or "termination of contract". though. It may be a play on words, but the club have left it dangling for us to make up our own minds as to whether he was pushed, or decided to jump himself.

I haven't seen it interpreted as anything oher than a sacking on social media untĺl I read Beth''s post on here this evening. What Holloway was quoted as saying after the Leeds game makes any other interpretation a stretch.

No he was talking about working for us, dream job, the only one he'd leave Sky for.

Well, I hope your memory has let you down then. Can you imagine going home to your wife and kids and saying “Well, I’ve lost my job. And on a point of principle I have declined the offer of a years wages in compensation for early termination of contract, because I’m that kind of guy”?

He says a lot Ollie. I hope and expect he gets a fair deal from the Club.

I'm now hearing that Ollie left of his own accord...by mutual consent.

His mother died, Ray Wilkins died...one of his daughters is now very ill. He realised he could not give next year to Ollie levels of commitment.. ( look at Darryl Still as Optimistic QPR on Facebook for full story)

If this is true...I think he sort of walked...

So all the criticism on here towards the owners may have been a little misplaced then?

    Just all rumours Col.
.. also heard Tone was selling the club to a consortium who wanted McClarin as the manager ( hard to believe).

At moment all rumours in the rumour mill

    Not sure what to believe.

But the longer it goes on the more certain I become of some back story. I just cannot see what it is yet..

Totally agree Col. I have read about conspiracy theories; people saying why SM hasn't been announced because someone said Monday...Actually, the club has said nothing, it was another crap rumour. There has been too much speculation.
I have been critical of Holloway for football reason, agree I will have a joke about him but nothing too personal. My only problem is when someone says "I've heard or I'm hearing". It will come out sooner or later, however, TF made his comments Before the passing of Ray Wilkins and Holloways mother. The other thing is Rumours were rife that Holloway was about to be replaced and after the Leeds game he committed himself to QPR (after the death of his Mother and RW)? It's probably more rubbish from Fantasy Island.

Sorry Beth but you need to stop reading posts on Fantasy Island. Think about it TF(only a week ago committed himself to QPR on the podcast). Then some bloke posted about a consortium <laugh> which by the way doesn't make sense. All this rubbish gets regurgitated and ends up here. <doh>
As for the backstory...listen to what TF said and tweeted in recent weeks. I'm sure the answers will be there.:emoticon-0148-yes:

    That took me a minute.

I wouldn't even believe the date on that site.

You always shoot yourself in the foot.
I posted a newspaper article from the Mirror on the Transfer Rumours Thread. I did not say 'I have heard'. You would think surely that a journalist from the Mirror may have a better idea than someone from Fantasy Island?
However, your poor attempt to try and mock me actually makes you looked stupid.
