Lot of my Liverpool mates thought we should have got Joe Allen when he left LFC but rumour was he favoured Stoke for its geography (not it's culture, that's for sure). I seem to remember we were linked. I liked him in the Euros, but am I wrong in thinking he has been a bit anonymous this season, even given he has been at Stoke.

 

I consider the core to be McCarthy, Yoshida, Bertrand, Cedric, Romeu, Lemina, Tadic. We cannot keep replacing our best players when we are looking to strengthen as we never get enough in. This is why I worry if we lose two of these.

 

Absolutely. I’m of a mind that a Hughes man being brought in at the back would be the way to go. My biggest beef with Fonte is that he left us without that leadership at the back. I never thought VVD wanted to be here when koeman left so he wasn’t the one to take over leadership duties. We need someone passionate about the club who can motivate and Instill that passion into the others around him. Our passionate club players (Jwp, Stephens, peh) are a bit too young to be true leaders atm.

This is one of the most negative aspects of our selling policy. Nobody can get passionate about a temporary/short term post. You end up with journeymen waiting to move on.

Sadly I will be surprised if Cedric and Bertrand are here next season. I would add PEH to the core and JWP. Our defence scout is going to be busy this summer.

I think its pretty clear that Cedric is going and i wouldn't be surprised if Berty went as well, rumours that Yoshida could be off leaves us very short at the back, i hope the cheque book is ready to go

 

Hughes seems to think that he is some kind of nutter whisperer, he seems to think that he can sort out damaged players

If they keep Sesegnon, I can imagine targett being keen on a move, they seem to click well together. I dont think they will keep Sessegnon tho....
