The problem is not Islam per se. Lets get this straight, there is no ONE cause for Islamic Terrorism, or any other terrorism, for that matter. When it comes to Jihadists there are two main reasons as far as I am concerned (and many smaller ones), which are: 1) Western atrocities in the Middle East - Please do not try to say that the **** that the US and UK has done in the Middle East has not been a MAJOR factor, of course it is FFS. If you send your child to school and then British planes drop bombs on that school, killing your child, it is going to piss you off and make you irrational in your grief and open you up for radicalisation.....this is inarguable. Our governments have an agenda over there, whether you believe the bullshit about Oil, lithium, Rothschild banks, Middle Eastern countries dropping the petro Dollar, whichever one you believe the most, but we certainly want to **** up the Middle east and remould it how we see fit because its not fit for our purpose. Saudi's commit more atrocities against their own in one week than Assad ever has in Syria, but Saudi Aradbia gets a pass....why? Because they play ball.... 2) Backward Religions - Islam is backward, but so are ALL religions, how could they not be, they were written thousands of years ago in a time when people knew **** all about **** all and they needed answers, Islam fundamentally is no more or less backward than christianity. The main difference is, the nations that practiced Christianity have progressed culturally and economically from ****e and simply have a better, more free culture. Islamic nations (with some exceptions perhaps) still mostly base their laws and morality word for word on their religion, and religion is ****ed up if you practice it to the word (Have you ever read the Bible or Koran? Some dark, horrid **** in there). Christian cultures have a more laid back way of practicing their faith these days, which has gone hand in hand with world progression and a superior culture.
I'd actually switch point 2 to divisive, intolerant ideologies in general, to be honest. Whenever there are clear out-groups of people or others to blame and get angry at, while rational thought is either downplayed or demonised, this will happen.
I personally think there is one huge factor that gets no attention when discussing ideologies and that is the background of the people who are most intolerant etc Take Pakistan for example as a country which even for Muslims like me is backwards in Islam. Yet my own parents were born during the "troubles" and my mother never had the opportunity to go to school. Her belief is stronger than mine but it's incorrect (if that makes sense) but i practise Islam more (if that makes sense) The history of the country is such that generations still exist who can't even read and write. These are basically tools for govts and imams to do with as they wish But again the chechan presidents words on the current Paris attack need to have focus, because these generations I highlighted above came to this country and didn't attack it
A lot of dangerous people love the devoted and uneducated*, regardless of what that devotion is to. Once you've got riled up followers who you can tell any old **** to and have them believe you, then you're in a very powerful position. There's often a very good reason that faith and education are on opposite sides of the battleground and it's nothing to do with religion. Edit: I probably should clarify that I mean uneducated with regards to the cause that they're devoted to.
Kind of what I meant, but the issue is that with every "divide and rule" type of policy you give breeding ground to the next uneducated lot I look at Iraq, Syria etc and these countries were pretty educated and the people on the ground in the main quite moderate. The next generation or so won't be. Also worth noting is how little religion was a factor in Ireland for those doing the actual killings and involved at the top end of the politics
