Nedum Onuoha has been linked with a return to Sunderland this summer. According to The Mirror, the 31-year-old centre-half is available on a free transfer after a six-year spell at QPR. He spent a successful loan spell with the Black Cats and he reportedly wants to return his family up north.
Well that’s the only type of player that would come I’m not keen but we will have to accept any player that we get and hope they performe
I was at that match, Tees, and we stayed at the same hotel as the S.A.F.C. team It was a canny weekend, like
I think that's a very important point. I've seen a few of my mates on twitter saying "wouldn't want this/that/other player as they're not good enough for SAFC" but they're talking like we should be looking at upper championship and lower PL players - I think a lot need to remember which division we'll be kicking off in in 82 days! AShley Fletcher and James Vaughan would both be good enough at this level!!
Yes from me. Thought he was older than 31. Think he's been skipper at QPR previously too and we need all the leaders we can get.
Absolutely. Him, David Wheater and Matt Mills 3 experienced centre backs for zero cash outlay. I'd like to see us buy a young centre back to develop and integrate into the team. Some of our fans seem to have no clue we are going to be playing in the third tier and are turning their noses up at the thought of people like Meyler, Ross Wallace etc. We'd be lucky to have them and if we could fit them into our new wage structure. Plus they are capable of playing in the championship in we went straight back up.
Meyler is the kind of player we need IMO - can be a right nasty bastard in the right way. Been a right pain in the arse against us previously.
Would he crave success? Not for me. Millionaire journeyman looking for his next wedge Doubt he’d fancy the 3rd tier
Oi, hands off our captain! Seriously, if we weren’t hamstrung by FFP I think we’d have given him a new contract. He’d definitely do a job for you guys. Good luck next year, the Championship will be poorer without you guys.
Seriously!! QPR fans rate him for the Championship and you say no to having him in a league lower? Who do you think would be good enough at the level that we are then? I think that JoS would be good enough personally - that said I think that it's time to move him on in a playing capacity. Get your Championship specs off and look at things from where we are rather than where us fans deserve us to be.
As has already been said he would only be coming for the money and would demand high wages. As will JoS, I agree he should be good enough for this league, but its a very expensive risk with either of them, we could take our pick of this divisions best for a lot less, we need to spend wisely on players with a future, not finance retirement plans, we have done enough of that already.
