Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal to leave at end of season. #nosurprise I always thought it was a bit of a gamble, as he wasn't that successful at Sheff Wed. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44064957 So FML - we could have signed Ayew instead of SirBenny - Forward Andre Ayew has not scored for Swansea since his £20m signing from West Ham in January. Edit - Stop Press - Former Wales and Sunderland boss Chris Coleman and his assistant Kit Symons have been linked with the vacancy at Ipswich Town.
He had such a start, the Swansea fans fell in love with him so quick! The press did too. So suddenly stopped. It all went wrong. It must have been his motivation and ability to get players on side that gave him such a start. Maybe his lack of quality tactically is why Wednesday sacked him after a few decent promotion bids, and why it dropped off a cliff at Swansea. Maybe when it came to the cutting edge, his player motivating didn't carry the lack of tactical ability. Seems the same happened at Swansea. If Swansea had taken him a few games later, before his ability wore off, would they have survived? With the impact he has. Possibly. I've never liked Swansea, but I do love Elis James, who is a comedian, Radio presenter and football podcaster. He is so insanely passionate about Wales and Swansea. Which has totally turned me, into hoping they stay up. So I do feel really bad they are going down. Elis is in a mess. He is such a lovely bloke.
From today's EDP - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/canaries-maddison-mega-bids-1-5513424 Let's hope McClean/TC/Leitner (if we can sign him) can 'step up to the plate!!!'
Howson in the playoffs. CamJam in the playoffs. Bennett and Ruddy promoted as Champions. That's annoying. Rudd only just missed out on the playoffs. It's almost like we are holding our players back.
Villa 1-0 up, against the run of play. My Villa Vs Derby final shout looks on. Bloody hell, just noticed that Grabban has started as well, and the commentators are saying what a good player he is...Urgh..
in OK FML, I'll take each player one at a time - Howson made it ABUNDANTLY clear he didn't want to be at NCFC CamJam couldn't handle DF's training regime Bennett never really impressed in yellow and green Ruddy was pretty poor last season and we couldn't afford him. You forgot - Snodgrass and Grabban also in the play-offs.
From today's MFW by Will Jennings - 'But the attaining of a striker remains our greatest necessity. Nelson Oliviera was nothing short of appalling at Hillsborough, not only squandering a plethora of chances but also showing a visible laziness and sense of apathy that is horrid to see from any City player. One wayward shot – the total of which this season must have hit triple figures – triggered an explosion of fury from the away end. He must be sold. While Dennis Srbeny has yet to become a real goal-scoring menace, he has shown signs of ability in the home games against Reading, Villa and Cardiff. However, the truth remains that we need to sign two genuinely prolific forwards. This must function as Webber’s principal mission. The future remains characterised by complete uncertainty. We fundamentally will not be able to judge any of the players Webber and Farke bring in until August. Until they pull a yellow and green shirt on and we see them operating in this system we should reserve all judgement. Indeed, unity is essential in ensuring we enter next season with an optimal chance of success. Remember – after all, we’re all on the same side.
But AN did have all these players when they still wanted to play for us and didn't do much with them.
A pretty fair summary from Gary Gowers on what lies ahead in the coming season - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...ood-something-disastrous-or-more-of-the-same/ IMO, I'll be happy if we avoid the early season drubbings that happened last season and are either in around the top 10 at Xmas. If we're in the lower half of the league at Xmas, then I feel that the board should be looking to replace DF pronto.
Some game in the SPL at Easter Road - HALF-TIME Hibernian 3-3 Rangers!!!! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/44044749
Ha - I hadn't realised that!!! Edit - Rangers now lead 4-3!! It ended 5-5 at Easter Road, but it wasn't enough, as the Dons held on to beat Celtic!!! Joe Lewis had a good game in goal for the Dons. PS - This from the BBC coverage - 'Another superb save from the Aberdeen goalkeeper as he keeps out Leigh Griffiths' header. Joe Lewis is earning his corn today.' Could we entice him back to Norfolk????
Changing topic - the Champions League final Despite the Olympic Stadium having a 63,000 capacity for the final, only 33,252 tickets have been allocated to Real and Liverpool, plus 6,700 available to worldwide supporters. The rest will consist of hospitality members, rights holders, commercial partners, officials, players past and present and media. #disgraceful
