Is this the most boring Saints supporting season ever?

From afar, I would say yes, definitely. I was a season ticket holder, for the last 3 or so years at the Dell, and emigrated, just before saints where relegated.
My uncle, who moved to Southampton last year, decided to get a season ticket, for this season. I really feel for him, watching the dross that is being served up!!!!

I don’t like any of Saints current players except Romeu and gabbiadini. The rest seem like spoilt brats that can’t wait to leave. I think that’s my problem.(youngsters excluded). Hard to cheer on players that just seem like mercenaries

I guess that’s why none of the players have chants about them anymore, hence the quiet atmosphere?

Forster, Cedric, Yoshida, Hoedt, Davis, Lemina, Højbjerg, Boufal, Austin, Long don’t act like spoilt brats. I assume you class Targett, Stephens and Ward-Prowse as “youngsters” even though they’ve been first team regulars for at least a couple of seasons, but they don’t act like spoilt brats either.

I'd take Hoedt off that list as he's allegedly thrown his toys out of the pram twice after not even half a season. but all things considered the likes of Hojbjerg have acted really well. Boufal had that episode where he was subbed off after half an hour when asked to play in the u23's but otherwise has had a good attitude considering.

yes but when we had most of our relegation battles we had a number 7 that could score.

Absolutely. Remember playing Villa in the season they were relegated. We were having one of those Koeman pre-Christmas spells where we became so desperate that we cheered if we won a throw in. We scraped a 1-1 draw with them. On the train home, one Villa fan told me he "dreamed of mid-table mediocrity". Would we settle for being, say, 10th/11th next year having been knocked out of both cups at the first time of asking?

Looks deep into the dark recesses of her soul. Would I like to be mid-table in the EPL next season? YES!!! Because it's dusty and full of spiders' webs behind my sofa and I might actually be able to watch a Saints game.

Strewth we have a few whingers don't we........I have supported Saints since their early div 3 south days..........I have seen the many ups and downs since I have supported them. Strewth as my mate reminded me we actually saw the great Ted Bates actually playing for Saints!!!!! Sadly my memory isn't that good.
The one thing that has been consistent for me though is my feelings for the club.
In the early days when I was choosing between Pompey and Saints there was something a little bit extra that Saints seemed to give me. Despite the numerous disappointments, that something is still there. Yes I would love to win the premier league, the European cup, the FA cup or what ever.
Saints are my team and god willing I will be there for their highs and lows for a few seasons yet!!!

Not really and I think that’s part of the problem. Nathan should be played as one. Sims is a winger and Tadic never gets played as a left side one. We were on a Promes of a new one through in January.

    ;)
