Good question. Its all about club football for me so World cups and Euro's are merely distractions during summers where I'm really
just waiting for mid August for the real stuff to start again. I don't have an International team but there will be one or two teams I
have a soft spot for so I will watch a handful of games and some highlights. Just can't get too excited about it though.

    Same.
It wouldn't bother me if internationals didn't exist. In fact I'd prefer it - do away with all those interruptions during the season.

I agree with your sentiments lads, we'll be called unpatriotic by some for holding the view, but LFC first and foremost and league football over international's all day long for me.

I enjoy the tournaments, Englands lack of success has taught me to look beyond notions of jingoism and just enjoy the spectacle, without really getting invested in anyone.
However the fact that international football is becoming dull and teams are more afraid of losing rather than trying to win means that the showcase events are losing their appeal. Not to mention Fifa and Uefa have destroyed football credibility by sending it to Russia and Qatar, and Uefa trying stupid gimmicks like multiple hosting and European League ****e that starts this year.

I've also been vocal about getting rid international breaks and pointless friendlies.

I don't hate them, it's just that I doubt I'd miss them if they suddenly stopped, whereas if there was no club football that would obviously leave a huge hole in my life.
I think most of us agree that there are too many mid-season breaks that interrupt the flow of the season, plus they increase the risk of injury to your best players on something that doesn't seem worth it. I probably wouldn't be so hostile towards them if they were all played out of season.

You do realise there is no such thing as a "pointless" friendly at international level?
International managers have a very limited choice of players and around 6 games per year to test them out. Managers have to see if players are capable of fitting the style they want to play, follow instructions and are up to the pressure of playing for their country and fit into the dressing room culture.
It's pointless people whinging that a manager should pick this player or that or maybe the players in form if they don't know or can't play the system of the team. The "pointless" friendlies give the manager a small chance to test different players out and get a better idea of who will do best at a tournament.

    In a big brother voice...

It's 2.09am and Diego attempts a half hearted drunked rant about international football!

Apparently, now there is just one game left and he's three goals behind, Harry Kane is more concerned about consistency than the golden boot...

Without looking on the United board, I’m pretty sure Diego will have said the complete opposite to his rant above.

He Literally just wants to argue with everyone on every point lol.

Yeah, and their clubs, train them, monitor their fitness, monitor their diets, keep them match fit and tend to their injuries.
Without club football international football wouldn't survive, but club football would survive without international football.:emoticon-0100-smile

His favourite board to "participate" lately is the Spuds, and arguing in particular with a smarmy arsed LFC hating tool from Croydon.
I'd back Diego every time on that board.<whistle>
