Beats me how people can't see his contribution, week in week out. It's not just the last few games, it's been the whole season; no other player in our squad has his mix of skill and football brains. No other player, apart from maybe Gabbi, (who has been in poor form), even comes close.

Cue loads of comments about how inconsistent he's been. He hasn't. The team has been inconsistent, not Tadic, and for all his ability he's not the sort of player who can carry a team on his own.

What, that he's gone to seed? Don't, you might break her heart.

I think Archers it comes down to obvious visible effect. Alex has come in and replaced a keeper not playing well and made some massive saves. That’s clear and obvious. Dusan is the best we have at keeping possession of the ball but if he hasn’t scored or assisted, people don’t see a last ditch tackle from him, so not so spectacular. I also think he has been below his high standards in affecting the outcome of our games over the season. My expectations of Dusan are high because I now what a great footballer he is.

I voted Alex - because of the impact, the I’d have gone with Pierre or Yoshi. Pierre because I feel he was much maligned during Puel’s time and I could see what he could bring and i am pleased he is finding a starting slot regularly. Maya, because I have a lot of man love for him. He’s becoming my latest club legend.

I’m with you on Dusan though. Quality, intelligent footballer.

Ps. Here’s a thought for you on Dusan and how people see things differently. I can’t watch a game with my father in law, no matter who is playing. We see completely different things. He said to me last week end, that Tadic’s problem is he is greedy and needs to pass more instead of shooting!!! I said he didn’t shoot enough - how do you see it?

When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Dusan has epitomized that as much as anyone. He will have a great reception tomorrow.

    Life's all about perceptions mate.

I certainly don't think Tadic is greedy or selfish - the opposite, in fact. And in a side of mostly poor finishers, he's certainly one of the coolest heads; just don't let him take pens.

As for voting on the basis on impact - I voted Gabbi vs Swansea for goal of the season, not because it was the best goal, but because it was the most vital, and provoked so much emotion.

Watched the highlights of the B'mouth game last night - I'd forgotten that vital twisting save from Alex near the end. There's no doubt he's played a massive part in keeping us up (I'm assuming we're staying up).

Some save that was. As was the save from Ake’s turn and shot.

Depends how much interest and whether we think McQueen/Targett(?) can step up, contract until 2021 though so 1 more year is possible. But don't worry I think he'll get exactly 1 vote.

And he cares and shows it. That will always go down well with fans. He was the one organising the celebrations at the Saints end on Tuesday. He is never happier than giving the ball to some glory-hunting striker...but sadly we've not had one this season...so definitely not a selfish player. He is a great player in a good team, but struggles to carry it by himself in a team that lost its way.. As Hughes said, our team needed direction.

I love Dusan. Let me get that out of the way.

But all this talk about how he never had a striker to find. We were all bemoaning, early in the season, nobody putting through balls in for Gabbi’s runs. Dusan was as culpable as any on that front.

Now largely that may have been tactical instructions (kind of) in that there was only Gabbi, we didn’t have any midfield runners plus there was a safety first mentality.

He’s our most creative player, and we should absolutely do everything to hang on to him. There’s a lot to like, but he’s played his part in the downturn too.

We play better with 2 strikers....Long is great running alongside someone who will put it in the net. MP2 didn't favour it and Hughes had to think defensively as well to some extent as we would be no good chasing a couple of goals....better to go into the 2nd half still level or in touch. Basically we need a Mane and a Pelle....but they are hard to find. :(

I actually agree with you. People were saying he didn't look interest, however I think that is just his expression, like when he scored for England and looked bored!

I think he has consistently been one of our highest performers.
