    Hmmm no end product..........
Finished 2nd in the league to a team being touted as the best in PL history
    In FA cup final
Out scored more opponents than any other team in the league (24 wins) other than the afore mentioned City
    Won 2 trophies last season

    Yep, no end product.

That's the point: last season, just like Pulisball kept West Brom up last season.

    And here's the corrections
    * Saltypool (80), Arsenal (73) and Tottenham (69) have also outscored Man Utd (67) in the league this season
    * We've already covered (at least twice...) how 1/3 of Man Utd's league goals were scored by the end of September, or to put it another way seven games out of 37
    * I hope your banging on about history to avoid talking about the current season isn't you getting in some practise before you switch allegiances to a certain other red-shirted team that happen to play at one end of the M62 for next season...

You really struggle to read don't you :emoticon-0100-smile I never mentioned how many goals we scored.

As for the last season bit, I threw that in at the end just to show how our no end product has stretched over two seasons.

As I've said before, it's the old Boycott argument
Boycott got dropped for slow batting.
The point is that however effective you are, any game has to be played in the right way.
There comes a point where the ends don't justify the means.
Being good enough for 2nd and winning some cups, but never threatening to win the PL or CL doesn't justify playing this anodyne football Mourinho resorts to.

tbh if you enjoy watching United fair enough but few do.
When we won the League Cup in 1999 it was the most tedious final and our football throughout that season was beyond turgid to watch.
I was glad we won but I could not enjoy watching us play.
You, quite rightly enjoyed winning the trophies last year and will enjoy winning the FA Cup but seriously...I do not see how anyone can get excited about going to watch a United league game.

It's the contrast that makes it harder to bear.
The best SAF teams attacked relentlessly - it was exhilarating.
As Spurs fans know, no deficit was too big to overturn in one half.

I have certainly enjoyed watching them much more in the past

The point I am trying to make is that others think it's fine to criticise a team when their own is playing "entertaining" football but winning **** all. The object of the game is to beat as many opponents as possible and win things, the money this earns is also good for the owners of the club.

When a club is looking for a new manager what do you think the first objective is, will he play fancy entertaining football or will he improve our results and position.

Do managers ever get sacked for boring football or is it usually results related?

Under Fergie, United only got good when we were financially screwed and just as we got halfway decent again, he ran off into retirement.....

I pay hard earned money to go take myself and 2 daughters to matches. I go to enjoy the atmosphere and to be entertained. We may not be great but I have seen some great matches which will always be remembered.

So for me the object is to entertain.
Spurs win very few trophies...to suggest I can't be critical of the turgid football United have dished up recently because of this is blatantly absurd.

As for your last question, your previous manger was sacked the same day he won the FA Cup.

I think getting CL through the EL saved him from that threat. The way one of our sponsorships is set up we can't afford to miss CL two years on the trot.

can't imagine sponsors continuing to pay top money if the football don't improve ... especially considering the winning and stylish football being played by City and Liverpool.
There will be some serious concern if Liverpool beat Real in 2 weeks time and Chelsea win the FA Cup!

simply not true mate...I make plenty of negative quotes as a joke...it is something I do in the hope the opposite is true...it is s very long running joke on the board...others refer to it as doing an RCL!

I NEVER complain if we play well but lose.

    Nah
Nah, as long as we get CL the sponsors will be fine for now.
City will be attracting money from everywhere and quite rightly, Liverpool play "kick it to the fast lad" 70% of the time but if they win the CL it will attract more sponsors.
This is where Spurs need to step up, it's no good complaining that other clubs can outspend you all the time. You need to put the football you play to good use and raise your profile by winning something. Rightly or wrongly sponsors pay to be associated with winners.

thought they paid for CL qualification...that's why you said LVG was sacked...winning a trophy was not enough.

Many seasons ago, we drew lots and RCL pulled the short straw. He was therefore given the undesirable task of being the most pessimistic Spurs fan in Not606 folklore. A task appointed, in order to nullify the curse of mid table obscurity...personally, I think he's doing a great job as we look look forward to CL footy once again.

    You get me Bob?
