You and every other wum is predicting that Spurs will see a mass exodus of all our major players this Summer. I choose to believe Levy that we’ll sell only those we can afford to lose.

We’ll see who is right.

 

Where do you think Alderweireld will be this summer, Do you see him leaving Spurs.

 

I’m not predicting that. I think Rose and Aldeweireld will go and probably Dembele too who isn’t at his best now. I doubt you’ll replace them adequately and improve to the extent you’ll seriously challenge for the title next year.

 

It’s not looking likely at the moment as we haven’t him a contract that he seems to like.

I don’t know what the issue is with him.

What I do know is that he hasn’t been anywhere near as effective for us since his injury, so I suspect that Poch is happy enough to let him go.

I’m sure Levy will get top dollar for him.

 

I’d take him at United.

 

With CL footy and a new stadium, I’d say we’re in just as good a position to get the players we need to compete.

Levy won’t sell him to you unless you pay double what everyone else is prepared to pay.

Look, I enjoy a good bit of banter like this rest of you, but we need to keep at least one hand on the grip of reality.

 

I’ve not said they will leave for those clubs though some may and Walker has.

If you have attracted players good enough to compete then they’ve been underperforming as you’ve got some lovely top four trophies and not a lot else.

Have you read the recent article written by Martin Keown?

He says that top 4 was more important to us this season than some meaningless domestic cup, especially on the eve of going into our new stadium.

He also is of the very firm opinion that had we been playing at WHL this season that we would have finished comfortably in 2nd and have been the only team to properly challenge City.

Is Keown deluded?

 

Given City are 23 points ahead of you, I’d say so.

However my point was about competing. You’ve not got particularly close to the eventual champions in this period of glory. Maybe once but you’ll remember better than me.
