They obviously decided that this season's top four wouldn't have us in it, so assumed we'd helpfully acquiesce to their wishes.

Huddersfield didn't think much of it either...

Just had a quick look over there.

Things have obviously gone so badly wrong that
Tom Comatose has had to hire extra "writers" to
    produce more snidey "articles" .

Martin Keown with a balanced view. He's actually a pretty decent pundit........for a Gooner.

Does Champions League football mean ‘more than a trophy’ as Hugo Lloris suggests?

With Spurs moving to a new stadium it is vitally important they qualified for the Champions League.

But next weekend they will be watching as one of Manchester United or Chelsea lifts the FA Cup.

When you come to reflect on a season without winning a trophy, you do not sit there with complete satisfaction.

Champions League qualification was clearly the priority for Spurs this year. Next season, it should be winning a trophy.

How big an achievement is it for Spurs to finish in the top four?
It’s a huge achievement — especially given they have had to play their home games at Wembley.

The ground is too big to be a home. There may be an amazing atmosphere when the likes of Manchester United visit but when Wembley is half empty it makes for a difficult occasion.

Despite this, they have been without doubt the best team in London — finishing above Chelsea and Arsenal.

While I don’t think they could have caught Manchester City, had Tottenham been playing at White Hart Lane this season I am convinced they would have run Pep Guardiola’s side closer.

After 18 home games last year, Spurs had 10 more points than they do now. Add those points to their total now and they would have 84 — enough to finish comfortably second.

  5. You have to post that on the Prem board so that chucklesome wumsters such as Pixie, Skids, and Matth can read it and weep.

  7. I’ve just used Keown’s arguments in a post with @West WindsR

He’s trying to convince himself that we’re crap with crap players that are all going to leave us in the Summer for the likes of Real, and that we’re simply too crap to replace them!

Why have you tagged me in this bollocks and then lied about what I’ve said?

  9. Go on, then.

Tell everyone what you think will happen in the Summer.

I wouldn’t have tagged you if I didn’t intend to give you the chance of responding!

    Come on now, HIAG.

You know the PL sheeple are talking with their "banter"
hats on. They are hardly going to put their non-tribal
hats on in front of each other and admit that Spurs are
in a far better place for next season than at least two
    of the usual suspects.

Rushing Kane back derailed our season. We've been rubbish ever since.

That's what gets me: Spurs fans can see this, and it's been said plenty on here, Cartilage Free Captain and r/coys for the past month, yet the hacks can't. Instead they're coming up with one outlandish theory after another: kane claiming Eriksen's goal has obliterated squad morale; Levy's £6m bonus has pissed off the team; losing the FA Cup semi has cut the legs from under the team.

Journalism really isn't as hard as the people paid to do it make it look.

So that means that these hacks are either :

    1. so stupid that they cannot even do such a simple job

    2. they know the score, and are deliberately acting as
attempted sh*t-stirrers with the Narrative (TM) +/- gossip.

It's because they don't actually watch the games. They see some highlights and then make **** up.

At the very least the piece in yesterday's Standard looked like they just Googled our results and saw we beat Stoke so simply assumed we played well, which is quite damning for their sports desk...

So spurs win their final 2 matches to throw the 'Spurs bottle it" headlines out the window so the BBC hacks are pissed.

We come 3rd, 2 points ahead of a Liverpool team who are highly rated, 7 ahead of 5th place Chelsea and 14 ahead of 6th place Arsenal even though all 3 we way ahead of us at the half way mark in the season.

We lost just 2 out of our last 20 league matches, winning 14 of them and drawing 4. We beat United, Liverpool and Arsenal at home...we best Chelsea away and drew away to Liverpool.
We beat Dortmund home and away, drew with Madrid away and beat them at home.

We played 38 matches away from WHL and still came 3rd...

and the BBC's take on it is...

Spurs guaranteed Champions League football at their new stadium next season with a victory over Newcastle on Wednesday and despite the thrilling nature of their final-day win it is still difficult to judge their season.

    the pain is palpable <laugh>

We should all be used to it by now. There’s an ingrained hatred towards Spurs. When we fail, they lap it up. When we succeed, it’s never enough.
