Just need the boys to match/better the Poool result on sunday, and they have achieved my "good" season.
Collapsing over the finish line did it for me, especially as it made us top club in London for the first time in a quarter century. It was one weird year, though, no doubt. It began with the league looking plausible and the CL definitely not, and went on to demonstrate the exact opposite was true. We did nothing to demonstrate we're capable of winning anything, yet thrashed the CL holders and will have a record of one win and one draw against this year's champions. The club has failed upward so successfully I now feel disappointed we aren't the top club in the world, because one of two clubs we beat will be. But I'd rather feel grateful I got to see a PL mid table side not so long ago beat more top teams than anyone else did this year.
We just need 3rd to top it off and I'm taking this season with a smile Judging from Lloris's comments after the Toon game and them of Poch and Kane too, playing at Wembley didn't feel like 'home' and they all seem excited about going back to the Lane. Maybe I have under estimated the impact it has had on the teams psyche but that is due to the fact that regardless of it not being home, we have had a decent record at Wembley. Maybe that's why the FA cup semi final is still grating on me, we should have made Wembley count. I guess the neautralising of it on the day really did remove any feeling of home and we all know the rest. Next season is going to be our 3rd season calling a different ground 'home'. I'm confident we will embrace it judging from the interviews this week, I can't wait. We just need Levy to back Poch now
