Good Morning Everyone Stoke, West Brom and Swansea will be the 3 teams playing in the Championship next season after Huddersfield pulled out the stops holding Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge last night. Only a goal difference of around 10, and a loss for the Saints this wekend will upset the apple cart. Which, if any of the above teams should e we overly concerned about? Leeds were beaten yesterday by a Myanmar National League All-Star's XI, but are we over reacting? The plane only landed 24 hours before hand after an 11 hour flight, the Sun would have zapped the energy out of our players and let's face it the side we put out was experimental to say the least. It looks like Pawel Cibicki is on his way out of Elland Road!!! He was seen at at Legia Warsaw's game last night. Was he given a proper chance to impress?
Good morning Matt All three if we start with last seasons shower of sh*te I have no interest in seeing a League One/Two outfit playing in a meaningless friendly just to line the pockets of our chairman & his cronies ! Radz should be spending his valuable time sorting out the mess he created not p*ssing about in some Asian country Like me Hecky probably thought he is a big girls blouse, certainly walks & runs like one. One decent 2nd half down at Loftus Road & that was it. Get shot of him or her !
Morning All. Every year there always looks as though there is at least 1 that will struggle, I took Sunderland at 16/1 to go down last season and also thought Hull would struggle. This time however I think all 3 could be strong, with Stoke being the one if any that may, a lot will depend who they keep and who they buy, WBA will lose a few players but not many I reckon and Swansea the same, think it may be a harder division to get out of next season, which makes things more annoying, as this was probably the easiest Championship since we came back up, we missed a golden opportunity. Never worry about friendlies, whether we lose to a bunch of no hopers or beat Europe's finest (as if) especially with an inexperienced side. Cibicki had a good half against QPR and became the new shining light but soon showed he is too lightweight for the rigours of the Championship, looks like he may have some skills but would need to go out on loan to a league 1 club if we are to keep him.
Morning all and I'm with 1964 on the Myanmar debacle, what a waste. For me Hecky is shyte but now looks like Radz hasnt the bottle to sack him, so I will just have to keep my powder dry and hope he can turn things around. I don't believe the players are as bad as they seem. I blame managers for a lot of whats happened, but even Radz must hold up his hands too. One thing I read yesterday was from Bryn Law (SkySports and Leeds fan) He says over the last dozen years through lack of leadership at the top we have sunk to new lows. Its not all about cash (Agreed) but giving a manager time and that should be 2 years. He was specifically hinting that its now Radz at the helm and he shouldn't have sacked Thomas and even though he did he should now give PH at least another season? Lots of sense in that but I have a caveat: if the players are blamed by the manager and the manager seems not to be able to change tactics or inspire or lose the dressing room and results are getting worse along with performances .... He has to go doesnt he? Thats what its been like since PH came in and yes we won last week but against a team on holiday. So lets see how the Summer goes
Stoke are the one I expect to go straight back up,have a good squad on paper at least and will strengthen,Swansea look lost and WBA have no money.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a sunny Cote de Bardsey Went to my favourite fish restaurant yesterday with Moe and my youngest daughter', The Magpie still they queue to get in obviously they have not read Glorys rant about the place!I was so pleased to see them so busy and got a kiss from one of the waitresses who has worked there 37 years Simon Grayson seems to be going to Barnsley with Snod and lets say well done Town for staying another season in the premiership not bad drawing at City and Chelsea away Seems young Ryan has done himself no harm again playing in Burma we have the makings of a star on our hands please note Glory Sad to see Holloway going from QPR he his such a character but the choice of Wally with the brolly baffles me .How he gats these good jobs shows boards have no imagination Cibriki never got going but at least he will get his move but how much will it cost us and Antonson can leave for a fee to Blackburn another loss there then Finally the tour de Burma at least the lads will experience a different culture and see some amazing places so lets treat it as an holiday for them and a bonding exercise
You never said you get fringe benefits. Must have been like slapped by a wet sponge. I hope wonderful Moe didn't witness this debauchery.
Morning all, there are going to be a lot of teams capable of going up next season, I think our success might depend on how many of the youngsters break into the first team and how well they do. PH blaming the players, it doesn’t bother me, I see it as his way of saying we need better, that the signings are not good enough. I’m disappointed in PH and more so in Rads persisting with the setup. All we can do is hope Rads doesn’t half heartedly stick with PH it needs to be all or nothing. Ask PH for some transfer targets, give him full control over the training ground, go all in with him. If he doesn’t trust him enough then now is the time to say goodbye. Those in favour of a DOF often claim it saves manager/coaches wasting money bringing in their favourites and being lumbered with them, well it’s been exactly the same and an even bigger waste of money this season with the DOF approach, Sacko, Klich, Cibicki all frozen out, Anita, CBJ and De Bock simply not good enough, players stealing wages from us. Director of football signs a player who’s face doesn’t fit and the coach leaves him out, a new coach comes in and he too leaves them out.
Good morning all, ahhhh so it's that friggin yorkshire sun to blame for the current woes, new it must be something (didn't think of that) theirs me thinking It's s*** players being coached by an even Sh***** manager, silly me
So lots of stories doing the rounds and for the first one we could do with some insight from our Irish mates. Apparently the leagues player of the year over there was a midfielder kid called Gavin Whyte who is supposedly sublime and even scored 21 goals from midfield. Crusaders I think are in NI? Orta is supposed to be looking at him Young Matt keogyh from the U18s has left the club after winning the league. He has been at TA since he was 10yo and now moving to the States for a college football team and to study. Good luck to him Antonnson will not be coming back to Leeds and Blackburn have an option to buy, but will they Cibicki is looking at options to move and was deffo seen in Poland with his agent John Sheridan has said that Lewie Coyle was without doubt the best player at the club, so looking forward to him getting a chance, which should mean Right Back position is filled with him and Ayling and Young Hossanah waiting his chance. Lots of talk about the Dane Pederson coming from the German league which would then tie up the Left back spot as long as De Bock comes back renewed and Pearce signs his new contract.
Ristac for those bothered there's a load of newspaper coverage around Europe quoting bits from a big interview Klich gave to a tv station in Poland and Holland. So lots of selective bits published. A couple of things stood out for me and I'm not getting into debate about Klich being good enough or not good enough. He has been pushed into giving a reason why he was frozen out at Leeds. 2 things regarding his relationship with Thomas. In the Summer all was going well and he was loving the set up until Thomas arrived and things changed? He then goes on to say that his only start was against Cardiff and he slipped, could do nothing about it but they scored from that slip and went one up. Thomas ripped him a new arse and from that time onwards he was frozen out. He also said that one of the reasons he joined Leeds was because Orta sold the plan to him. He said Orta had a style and formation that the whole club would be using and that plan suited Klich. However when results started to go bad, TC panicked and changed tactics and style and Leeds didnt have the players capable of playing like Barnsley ..... This has been mentioned before by someone who said the players brought in were like pieces of a jigsaw, but were being either frozen out or played out of position and it didnt/couldnt work. Indeed Orta and his coaching team at TA have had massive success this season as all the teams play a certain way and no involvement from TC or PH. So that should mean the manager has no involvement other than asking the coaches to see if they can try a certain tactic in training. The first team are playing different football to the academy and the rest. It would seem Ortas plan is to copy Barcelona, Real Madrid set up whereby everyone is coached to play a certain way/style so that kids are developed to fit straight into the first team when required. The wheels fell off the first team bus because of management it would seem
I read those Doc but my point is Thomas froze him out, PH hasn’t recalled him, Thomas and PH froze out Cibicki if a players face doesn’t fit with the coach and the coaches transfer targets are ignored it’s easy for a coach to leave out a player, pick an u23 ahead of them, cause them to kick up a stink or point the finger of blame. We might as well give that coach his own choice of player, the argument for a DOF not wasting money on “favourites” doesn’t work at this level. Klich might be the best player the championship has seen but if he is frozen out by a coach who doesn’t want him it matters not, it’s just a waste of money. I don’t mind if a coach goes to a DOF and says look, I can’t work with this set piece coach, find me a new one who likes playing zonal marking, I need a new LB with pace and more attacking qualities and I need a CB pace not important but can tackle and be 6’ 2” or more, great in the air... Then the DOF draws up a shortlist of 4-5 for each position goes back to the coach and says give me an opinion on these players... PH looks at them and says yes I’ll have him or no find me better or I might as well keep what I have. Again though, I’d prefer to see PH gone but if Rads is sticking with him don’t stick half heartedly, give him the tools he claims he needs then see what happens. Half heartedly will be rinse and repeating this season all over again.
Morning all. With only 7 days left until the transfer window opens hopefully Radz is busy securing new investment from South East Asia. Lot's of wealthy billionaires over there who I'm sure would love to be involved at top end of the PL but would never be able to buy in at the top table. Leeds therefore represents an excellent opportunity to invest at a lower level and work your way up in a relatively short period of time as Wolves have done this season. With the transfer window now closing on 9th August (loans only until 31st) we should now see the benefit of having a DOF who has been planning for this window since the last one closed. To those who suggest sacking Orta surely you can see that this would be the worst possible time to take such a decision with such an intense period of transfer activity just about to take place. The recent sequence of poor results and performances have hopefully focused the minds of all responsible that anything less than a serious promotion push next season is totally unacceptable.
Morning all. Couldnt care less who is in our division next season. As a dozen teams finished ahead of us this time, its about what Rad does to improve things, not the quality or lack of in the rubbish coming down. As for the trip to Miramar or whatever, dont get me started. This club is the biggest load of bollix its been for 15 years and requires a total overhaul. And before someone starts about the progress of the Ladies team or the under 9's, I dont care. I wasnt interested in them in the 60's and Ive still none
Morning 64, how much scouting is actually done I wonder when Leeds bid on these players. I'd wager some of it is nothing more than 'a man down the pub reckons Cibicki...."
Morning Gessa, the teams that go down have an unfair advantage due to the parachute payments. That ought to be looked at!!! The gulf between the Championship and the Prem (money wise) are poles apart, and the gap is unfair.
Morning Doc, in hindsight we should not have sacked TC (but after Garys Peed's comments, TC was never the same again). At the time we were still looking at a play off spot, and Rad was put under a lot of pressure on social media, and as we are now learning, he makes rash decisions! Did TC lose the dressing room? I wonder what the players think of Heckingbottom?
Without doubt, but all the signs are that the gap will get bigger not smaller. Clubs ought to have it in players contracts if they go down then their salary does too,to match Championship wages, the Gould's and Sullivan did it at Brum, not sure if they do at W H but if that was thew case the parachute payment wouldn't be needed. I know some think there would be an exodus of players from the clubs but not many teams want loads of relegated players.
