Alonso: “I told Kazuki and Seb on the podium, ‘this is so nice, I’ll be here all night long, pick me up tomorrow morning’
MLB is coming to London. I really hope to go to one of these games. Yankees v Red Sox is one of the great sporting rivalries. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/baseball/44038752
Went to a Yankees game when I was living in NY. It was like watching pant dry - and they dare to say cricket is dull!!
Never really watched baseball. Can't stand basketball though. American football however is probably the best sport in the world
Sounds as though Andy Murray is struggling to be fit for the grass court season I think we've seen the best of him anyway but Wimbledon isn't the same without him.
Don't like basketball or netball for that matter....massive scores mean it is too easy to score, so yawn. So a special award goes to the England netball team winning gold in the Commonwealth. They realised the limitations of their game and made it exciting by winning their semi and final with a basket in the dying seconds. That's showmanship.
Andy has struggled with injuries since his teens. He has now reached the point where he goes from one injury to another. Terrible to happen when he was at his peak. I hope he plays again, but he may have to accept that his body will no longer be fit enough to play at the level he expects. He seems very interested in helping young players....wouldn't be surprised if he starts a tennis school with scholarships for talented players.
Yes, he's always been prone to back/hip injuries, sadly, which was why I was so mad at Virginia Wade when she criticised him for "crying wolf" about his back a few years ago. I'd love to know whether she apologised when he went in for his back op... I definitely think he's going to go in to coaching as he does a heck of a lot of it with young British talent now. Will be a heck of a loss to British tennis, though
Yes. We get promising players, but they can often win brilliantly on odd occasions but lack consistency. Edmund on his day looks the real deal, but is losing right, left and centre at the moment. He thrashed Medvedev yesterday...taking the 2nd set 6 love...but got Djokovic in the next round. Let's hope he is at his very best.
Excellent BUT Djokovic isn't anywhere near fit and like Andy will probably not be back at the top ever again.
