The record low points to survive is still WBA's 34 points when we went down in 2005. But I don't know how many wins they got.
Moi....nah he can do that on his own...after all confusing a light bulb to a light switch sounds to me just like a ref doesn’t it you? .....
Gabbi played really well when he came on and scored the all important goal. Pleased for him. Big Alex in goal made some mighty saves and punches once more. When we finally settled down a bit in the second half we played some nice quick passes. No doubting the commitment and passion from a single player. Thank you Mark Hughes for galvanising this lost group of players, making a team out of them and leading them with confidence and passion, exactly what we needed and it's dragged us over the line. I love football. I love the Saints. COYR
It has happened, though it doesn't happen terribly often. Closest comparison in recent years is Sunderland, who eked out 38 points in '14/'15 on seven wins. Not coincidentally, they're the record-holders for draws if memory serves.
I was thinking that when Sparky was managing at Stoke he was just managing and got a bit stale. now he is here he is Managing as a Saints Manager and that may be the difference, you can take a Saint out of Southampton, but you can't take Southampton FC out of a Saint.
Only in rare seasons where it's close at the top right up until the end e.g. AGUEROOOOO. For it to basically all hinge on one game like today. For that post goal and post final whistle euphoria, I'm not sure there's much in this world that feels better.
