Okay. We've had the best start we coulda wished for this season. We, again, started slowly which might be our failure against top clubs. But we came into the game and never looked like losing from there.

Timmy Krul - 8 - not as good as last weekend and against Scunny, but 3 amazing saves + many more decent ones.
Danny Simpson - 8 good runs down the wing and two good crosses, but got caught out of position a few times.
Collo - 8 - Another solid performance and anticipated quite a few passes. The CBs werent as good with the offside trap as usual as Murphy and Sidwell got through to be stoppd by Krul
Sayls - 8 - Again solid at back, but we shouldn't have conceded the late goal - but Ill blame that on Smith ;)
Rayls - 8 his best 'in play' performance yet but no wonder free kick - we didn't look troublded defensively most of the match.
Guti - 6 - he was inexistent at times in the match, but grew into it. He doesn't look as fast as he was last season.
Obertan - 7 - pacy and was played well instead of running down the wings looking for lost causes - he covered a lot of the pich
Cabaye - 8 - outstanding at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second. And he is sexy
Tiote - 7 - a better game in which he won the ball back many times and did his usual move where he does a 360 degrees turn. He played well, but gave too many FKs away
Lover - 4 - just not good enough
Best - 8 - headline grabber and his second goal was brilliant work. Didn't have anyone to work with as Lover was invisible for most of his gametime and Lover is useless.

Ba - 6 - good work to assist second goal and is looking like a better player - I heard whilst in Morocco that in the last week of Ramadan, they get used to it and live life normally and it ends in 3 days aswell.
    Vuckic - 6 - he broke his finger :'(
Smith - 0 nothing good to say

Agree with your ratings. I'd give Krul a 9. Perfect at everything in the whole game, but knock one off for his positioning for the goal, so just a 9, not quite a 10.

Pardew gets a 4 today in my opinion. Lovenkrands shouldn't have started and when Vuckic went off injured we should have brought on either Sameobi or Marveaux. Only takes a minute for Smith too **** up a hard earned lead!

Disagree with a couple of them. I'd say:

    Krul - 8 : Great saves.
Simpson - 6 : Some great stuff from him, nice to see him finally making runs down the right, but also some mistakes and gave away the silly freekick they scored from.
Collo - 7.5 : Solid but not as good as he has been recently.
S.Taylor - 8 : Very good game, won loads of headers too.
R.Taylor - 7 : Put in some good challenges but some of his passing was poor.
Jonas - 8 : Put in the usual top amount of effort he does and his cut in for the shot was nice, he needs a proper LB to play off to unleash himself properly.
Obertan - 8 : Some great passing, geat effort and cut through Fulhams defense like it wasn't there at times.
Cabaye - 8 : Great effort, great shots and intelligent passes. He keeps this up and he'll be a favourite in no time.
Tiote - 6 : Still not the sort of performance you hope from Tiote. Seemed to rely on his scrappy, heavy challenges rather than the neat passing and turning we've seen from him before.
    Lovenkrands - 3 : Did nothing.
Best - 7.5 : Scored 2, so 7.5 maybe is unfair but he struggles to stay onside and that frustrated the hell out of me for loads of the game.
Ba - 7 : Better than we've seen from him so far and the assist was nicely done. Nice run and shot near the end too.
    Vuckic - n/a
    Smith - <doh>

Tash will be steaming that you've beat him, and given Lovenkrands a low rating...

Agree with you there - but he did well against Scunny and the Scum so give him credit

I agree. Poor from Pardew. Starting Lovenkrands over Sammy is a ****ing joke considering who really earns a start. Then Vuckic was replaced by ****ing Smith!

Why can no managers understand how **** some players are. It's extremely frustrating.

We needed Marv on and told Cabaye to go defensive. Or if we had sent Marv on, they might not have scored

Same and the worse thing is he might decide to play Shola(if he's fit) against QPR.. and Shola would have probably partnered Lover <doh>

    Thank god for Besty!

Btw do BBC always pick the worst pics of our players - they've got a funny pic of Obertan on their BBC Football homepage on the slideshow

    Anyway here's mine:

Timmy Krul - 8 - Would have got a 9 but he was too far off his line for the Fulham goal which put us under a lot of pressure in the last 10 mins. Other than that, cracking saves.
Danny Simpson - 6 - Decent game, but not great. One of our weaker defensie players today.
    Collo - 8 - Strong yet again
    Sayls - 8 - Strong
Rayls - 7 - Not as strong as Saylor and Colo in defence, but still had a good game by his standards
Guti - 7 - Good effort. Not as much attacking potential compared to how he was in the 2nd half against Sunderland though. We do need a new LB so Jonas is more confident going forward.
Obertan - 7.5 - Definitely one of our better players today. Used his pace, got around players and put some canny crosses in.
Cabaye - 8 - Getting better game by game. Considering all of the near-goals he's had since the season started, his first goal for us is merely a matter of time now and should come soon.
Tiote - 6 - Purely by his usual exceptionally high standards, that wasn't one of his best games. Should be back on his feet after ramadan is over in a few days though.
    Lover - 3- Pure ****e man
Best - 8 - Some of his play wasn't great, but you can't deny that he bagged 2 goals and won us the game. A striker is there to score goals and that's exactly what he did.
Ba - 7 - Would have been a 6, but that cross in for Best's goal gets him another point, so 7. Was quality.
Vuckic - 6 - Looked lively, but gave away a free kick and then went off injured. Real potential in this guy, but we didn't really have enough time to see it today.
Smith - minus 10,000. The guy ****ing sucks.

Dont agree with this, I think going forward he was poor and just ran into trouble and was easily dealt with, dont think he put in a single cross either tbh, he was very good defensively though thats about it, and the cross field ball to Ba for Best's goal of course.

A few times towards the end of the 1st half he skinned the Fulham players down his side and put some balls into the box. He also kept up his attacks during the 2nd half and was an integral part of Best's goal.

In-terms of attacking, he was one of our better players and caused more trouble than Jonas did.

    A 4? Harsh on Pardew!

He had us set up pretty well. Tiote was a bit off and therefore we didn't control the midfield but the back 4 coped with pretty much everything in the first half - Colo coming forward and covering the wings, Taylor mopping up what Colo didn't get...That's not coincidence, that's tactics!

Plus, as with the previous 3 games, we've come out in the 2nd half, after his team talk, a completely different team!

True the Vuckic injury was a massive shame, but at least he put him on in the first place...It'd be different if he stuck Smith on immediately but he didn't!

I'm not saying he was perfect today but he's hardly deserving of a below-average rating, we won ffs...give him a break man!

Looks like the Paralympian Football final. <ok>

Didn't see the game (there was an excellent grand prix on at the same time). Pleased we got the win and that Best is straight back on the goal trail. His record is superb and it gives me a lot more confidence going into the season. We still need to look to bring someone in though, especially with the ACoN expected to stretch our squad at a critical period.

Same with left back, reassuring to have Ryan Taylor, but we need a left back. Judging by your reactions and what I've seen in the first three games he's nudged himself ahead of Simpson in the pecking order.

Great start to the season, ****ing excellent return from the first three games. Next few days are critical though, Pieters or Cissokho are vital. I'll let them off with a striker as there's no one obvious available and Best's doing so well, but a left back is a must.
