Newcastle 2-1 Fulham - My thoughts and Leon Best goal video

I almost got both but the first goal was blocked off by a fat bastard standing in front of me, but i got the 2nd one.

I hope the Leon Best haters stop hating. He's scored 8 goals in 11 starts in the PL for us. No he's not the classiest striker, but he ****ing scores goals, and consistently.

Give the lad a break. He should be starting every game now. Best target man, best goal scorer.

Credit to Obertan and Demba Ba, both played a part in the 2nd goal.

My ratings -

Krul - 8 - Some excellent saves, Fulhams goal was too fast for him to save. Another fantastic performance.

Simmo - 6 - Some decent tackling, but another edgey performance from him. Obertan saved him a couple of times.

Taylor - 9 - Another solid performamce

Colo - 8.5 - Great performance.

Raylor - 7.5 - Got caught out a few times but overall he was good. Needed help from Jonas at times, but overall his performance was good.

Obertan - 8 - Great performance. Tracked back extremely well. Covered simmo and some excellent tackling and dispossessing. This lad has excellent talent. He started the game a little edgey, but you could see the confidence building in him. All we need to do is get behind him, cheer him on and he'll be another star.

Tiote - 7.5 - Much better than his last two games. Still a little bit to go but his tackling looked much better today, and no silly booking. Good performance.

Cabaye - 8 - Two excellent shots on target, the 2nd shot lead to our 1st goal. He's steadily getting used to the PL because he looked up to scratch today.

Jonas - 8 - Cracking performance. Caused problems and tracked back well.

Best - 8 - Did his job, but Lover couldn't make anything of his knock downs, scored two goals and got us the 3 points.

Lover - 5.5 - Passenger for most of the game, but some decent passing and tacked back well to help also. IMO he's wasted as a striker, he should be played in a free role.

subs -

Vuckic - N/A Unfortunate unjury

Smith - N/A Didn't touch the ball

Ba - 7 - Good performance, good assist. Can't fault him today.

MOTM - Got to be Taylor again. Solid and kept Hangeland quiet from set plays.

Overall - **** first half. They just sat behind the ball and we couldn't create anything. Second half we attacked and played quiet well. Disappointed we conceded but w/e. Still unbeaten and conceded the least amount of goals in the PL.

Yes agree with most of your ratings and I agree that Best sure isn't the BEST striker in terms of being the quickest, strongest or cleverest but he does one thing well... HE'S A GOAL THREAT! He's a good finisher also.. shown by today! RIGHT PLACE IN THE RIGHT TIME'' SORT OF STRIKER.

Still think we need another striker mind.. one injury to either Ba or Best and we're ****ed! Don't want to be relying on Lovenkrands or Ameobi.

 

Would give Krul 10 if it wasn't for the bad positioning for their goal. Would give him a 9.

 

Best is probably our strongest striker. He wins things in the air and uses his strength to keep players off him. Ba can't win **** in the air, and Shola wins not much more than Ba. Best troubles CB's that are taller than he is.

Also Best has the best ball control and balance.

Best's goal was excellent IMO. If you look closely, he touches the ball cleverly with his back heel to set himself up and slots it in.

Krul 7- Two great saves but awful positioning for the goal.

Simpson 6- Still doing nothing to impress me this lad.

Taylor 8- Solid as a rock as he has been every game so far this season

Coloccini 8- See Taylor

Raylor 6- Thought he was rather poor for the most part and didnt offer as much going forward either.

Obertan 7- Only just a 7, he was awful going forward apart from the pass to Ba for the Best goal, but was great tracking back I thought which brings it from a 6 to a 7.

Tiote 7- An improvement on how he's been so far but still not his usual best, I think rhamadan is over soon.

Cabaye 8- Gets better every game and I think everything ran through him today, key player this season.

Gutierrez 7- Better than Obertan, tracked back well at times but end product still lacking going forward.

Best 8- Nothing more to say than he was in the right place at the right time and nobody can fault him today, well played lad, and I'm not his biggest fan either.

Lovenkrands 4- Utter dogshite as usual, barely touched the ball and looked well off the pace, why he still gets minutes is beyond me.

Subs:
Ba 7- Best I've seen him for us so far, came on and got the assist, showed some nice touches and nearly got himself a goal, will be a big player for us IMO.

Vuckic N/A- anyone know what the crack there was, bad injury?

Smith 1- only on for 10 minutes but hes so awful its painful, received the ball twice, one time gave it away the other time nearly lost it on the edge of the box, gave away a dangerous free kick and of course was carded, he should be no1 priority to get the **** out of our club, liability.

This basically. Except Krul - 9, Tiote - 6 and also Lovenkrands - 5. He's **** but his effort is unbelievable! It's the only reason he's in the team

 

Tiote 6? A bit harsh maybe? He was pretty good.
