You’re upset because I taught you the FFP.

Why would I give my number to you? So you can shout **** down the phone? Wow, what a kick you will get out of that.

It shouldn’t be hard to get my number, most call centres seem to have it.

Can we get back to laughing at the Mousers now?

Can't see them finishing 5th but it'd be ****ing hilarious if they did and then lost the final.

So, please explain how you’re any different?

As soon as you called me a ****, did you want me to roll over, have my belly tickled and apologise?

The clue is in the name.

    Financial Fair Play.

It was designed to stop clubs spending beyond their means and thus saving them from going under, it was never meant to stop rich clubs from using their spending power or to stop other clubs from rising.
If a billionaire bought any club today there is nothing to stop him paying off all it's debts and putting a lump of working capital into it, from there the club could spend whatever it wanted on players (using that lump of capital) but would have to prove that the wage bill and running costs were sustainable from the normal turnover of the club. Moshiri at Everton has just done this (paid off the clubs debts and put £85m in the bank) and could put even more in once he takes full control of the club.

SFTW made a crack about FFP and United, we are well within it's rules because of our turnover so poor example really.

Incorrect. If a rich person buys a club, they cannot spend their billions. A team has to support itself, hence why United & Liverpool will never have an issue as you have global support which brings in vast amounts of money.

Man City spent tonnes prior to FFP being introduced. Since then, yes they have spent money but they have found loop holes (sponsoring the stadium with ridiculous amounts of the owners money) and have been fined by UEFA.

I never said United were outside the rules. You have an endless pit of money which few teams can follow. It was more aimed at that United should be doing a lot better, but since Fergie has left you’ve lost your way.

While the principle is correct it has undoubtedly cemented the top clubs as the top clubs and that will never change now. Right idea and intention but in reality it protects the top clubs from a Leicester, Saints etc. from breaking the monopoly as the rules prevent risk taking. You saying there's nothing stopping owners from pumping loads into a club ala City but there quite clearly are rules preventing this unless you use dodgy sponsorship deals.

There's also the separate rule brought in on the hush a couple of years ago about only being allowed to increase wage bill by x amount per season regardless of whether you can afford it or not.

Agree that there's no issue of it applying to United.

I obviously need to explain this comment....

Right, Man U have spent a **** load with not the best return in trophies but see themselves in no financial problems and will be able spent lots more this summer and FFP won’t come calling as your turnover is huge.

    Better?

FA Cups isn’t enough for a side like United. League titles and going far in the Champions League is what counts these days to the big clubs.

Of course there are, that is what FFP is all about. Once a person/company has bought a club they can no longer prop it up financially, it has to run within it's means, you only skimmed my post didn't you :emoticon-0100-smile

Indeed, meaning a billionaire can’t float a small club like Saints to the top without building an empire first.
