It was a game where we needed more craft, Coutinho is missed in the games where teams play a little deeper to counter act our pace. I hope we sort that in the summer, I suppose we already have with Keita but another who can pick a pass would be nice.
Coutinho has also gone missing a lot. He always seems to get mentioned when we play ****e but where was he and his stinking attitude when we needed him? Or you just referring to his long shot ability that all our players can do even moreno and Agger etc? Attitude of the players is a problem for me. They don't want to miss out on playing cl final. What makes you think coutinho would have been any different.
I'm talking about the ability to pick a clever pass that creates a chance, at the moment we rely on pace and dribbling.
But why would he be any different than the problem we have with our front 3 at the moment that try to do it themselves and not pass to a team mate? He is more a glory boy than our forwards.
Different kind of player though and would do the unexpected. Our midfield is very workmanlike at the moment and that's fine but we need different options. AOC is different and Keita will be as well so hopefully that will mean we break down the teams that defend deep.
for me. Lets see what happens Kieta seems an interesting player. Ox is a different sort Not sure either is a silva type.
Lallana likes to do some trickery pokery but I'm not convinced with his injuries anymore. He could be a Sturridge Mark II
Exactly the point, and why it was illogical to let him go - unless we really did need the money for the VVD sale?
I don't think we wanted him to go, but it was sell him now, or keep him and he starts sulking and not trying as hard, maybe have to sell him on the cheap like Suarez.
We lost £10m on Suarez off his release clause. I'd have happily kept even a sulking Ford, considering it's WC year, and sold him this summer for £136m rather than the £146m we reputedly got in Jan. As said, the only sense you can make in this is we needed the cash for VVD. Maybe that was the case last summer too, and Soton would always sell at £75m, but we just couldn't lose face -understandably - over Ford last summer.
