What the players need to ****ing realise is it’s not just about them. They all are going 5mph so they get their day in the sun vs Real Madrid. But here’s the thing, no one remembers the ****ing runners up to the CL, but what we I’ll remember is next season when we’re in Europa League due to their ****eness. Which then prohibits us replacing some of these ****e players. Solanke? Ings? GTFO

Midfield looks awful, all the creative mids are injured and it told. All work horses who like to retrieve the ball and pass sideways, no-one willing to drive forward or link with the forwards.

Solanke for Origi is the only pointless transfer in Klopps transfers. He may have been lazy but we at least got 10 goals of the lad.

Solanke may be young but he needs playing time to develop his game. We just didn't look alright and players look like they are avoiding injuries for the final so not getting too stuck in.

Still in our hands though another day we live to fight.

If Chelsea draw they can still be 4th as we would have to at least draw.

thus side is showing seriously poor attitude to winning at this point.

they are only trying in cl

Will the team now think we have 2 goes at the CL? Brighton and Real Madrid.

Doesn’t matter if we lose to Brighton, we’ll turn over Madrid and get into CL that way.

We make life difficult for ourselves don’t we?

I hope Klopp has learnt his lesson and listens to me from now on. Wonder if we would have won if Snape was still the assistant.

No matter what happens we need to get new players who can improve the team. If we are really serious about the league, then what happened this season is not good enough even if we beat Brighton to get top 4.

The table does not lie. We may well get 75 points and 4th, but that is exactly the same (or very similar) to last season. That is not progress in the league. Of course we’ve had a great run in the CL but this only emphasises the lack of depth of our squad.

    75 is not bad.

    No league cup run.

    No fa cup run.

    4th at best in league.

I have this nasty feeling that had Chelsea not had 6th at poor period and fallen 10 behind we would have tried hard and gotten it.

We really have shown a lack of a killer instinct here.

@astro I’m sure we had a bet about who we you’d finish higher in the league out of Man United and Liverpool.

On Solanke though he still looks very raw & clearly nowhere near the required level he was the only one who had the slightest chance of scoring in the 2nd half. Bobby too interested in fancy flicks and Salah in throwing himself to the ground.

Tbh my biggest fear is that this is us for the rest of the season. Worried about Buvac going tbh.
Salah i dont think is being selfish but he has stiffened up. Our football for most of the season has not been long ball or kick it to the fast lads as claimed by a few on here.
A quick goals compilation from these season shows you how good some of our goals have been, but these last three games have looked like that is what we are trying to do.
We need some of our midfield back and just to relax a bit. We look tense to me, and we are not a good team when tense. We need to relax, problem is we are a confidence team and somehow, we have found ourselves in a run devoid of confidence.
Hope we get it sorted before next game.
Its one of those situations we seem to create for ourselves. If you had said at start of season we will go into last game at home to brighton needing to win to get into CL with a CL final against Real already secured, we would have took it.
Its only because we really should have nailed this by now.
Anyway hope we get sorted for next week.

    Ps
I dont like saying it but you were right now about the spurs chavs game.
But tbh we dont deserve it if we dont gt there on our own merit
We should not be relying on other results.

Of course we can’t and shouldn’t rely on others. What we were discussing at the time was which results were more favourable for us and therefore we should be rooting for?

My contention all along was that our top wish should be for the teams below us Spurs at the time and Chelsea later to lose so that we put the biggest distance between them and us. I did say at the time that I hoped that Chelsea do not come back to haunt us. Unfortunately we here tend the focus on the team above us. Recently I think we just ignored teams below us not believing they could threaten and overtake us.

I predicted the worst case scenario with us in the mix with Spurs and Chelsea for 2 places.

What worries me is that we’ve lost momentum in the premiership. No doubt about that. 1 Win in the last 5 matches and none in the last 3.

Salah although he fully deserved it has been lavished with so much praise that his performance has significantly dropped and a seemingly easy hurdle like Brighton at home has become a toughie. We need to stop a run of 3 winless matches. If Brighton put 11 men behind the ball we could be in for a nail biting afternoon.

For me the squad just isn't deep enough, been said often enough before, we're short in several important areas

It's all well and good pulling it out for the big European matches, can't really criticise this either as we've had some great showings, but in these kind of bread and butter PL games we need to be able to manage players better and have confidence in the replacement/rotation players, not just the key guys who do burn out through our over-reliance in so many games

Sure it's probably attitude problem as well in some instances, but I think that's affected and influenced by the above bigger issue

I think that we’ve underachieved in the premiership and “overachieved” in the CL. Look at the recent teams we’ve beaten (City, Roma) and those we’ve lost against or drawn (WBA, Stoke, Chelsea) . The teams we’ve beaten are those who played into our hands. Roma were to many observers and pundits particularly naive and we took full advantage. The teams we struggled against were the Teams that defend well and attack us on the counter. Brighton kept a clean sheet against the mancs. I hope they won’t do the same at Anfield.

    Lost momentum everywhere.

Of course and our team is exhausted. This was always going to.be a lost game. Could tell that the team.was exhausted after Rome. This should have been a resting game.for the stars.
