2 plus 2 making 5 there. You might be able to add on seven points to our tally, but you can't just stop it there. You then have to look at what points could be deducted from our total. You then have to look at what points could be added to other teams (for decisions against them). You then have to look at what points could be deducted from other teams (for decisions for them). There is far, far, far more to it than just adding seven points to our total.
I half agree with you. If the referee sends Alonso off for what was a shocking tackle on Long that he "'missed" and disallowed the handball at watford which he "misssed" we would already be safe, so I would say poor refereeing has played a huge part in our season. Yea we've been **** all season but those decisions were not small they were ****ing massive and quite frankly embarrassing , you can't miss things like that and call your self a "professional " referee. It's a joke!
Still can’t believe we didn’t win yesterday. It never looked like Everton would score. Please beat Swansea, Saints. Just for the sake of my health.
The referees time and time again have shown themselves not up to the modern professional game. There are probably only two I would say capable of doing the job. If it is ok to moan and abuse a professional footballer for making an honest human mistake, then it should stand that the same should go for referees. The standard of the referees must improve, else more and more technology will get used and out game will get ruined.
There is a very good reason that the English Referees are anywhere near any Competition outside of the Prem.
I'm in the 'glass half full' group of happy clappers, so to turn the match/order of goals on its head, if we had scraped a draw with the last kick of the match, we would all be celebrating. We lost two points with the last kick of the match (well, nearly the last kick), but the outcome of this season is still in our hands. A win against Swansea on Tuesday takes us three points clear of them (and, incidentally, above Huddersfield on goal difference). We win on Tuesday and we are safe, barring a goal fest by Swansea against Stoke, and/or a goal fest by Man City. We need positivity, or lots of alcohol. Probably both.
Having watched the game live, on my iPad, I wasn’t sure if the ref had called it right or wrong, when penalising Redmond, in the corner. Having now seen it on a big screen, I have joined the ranks of the totally miffed group. The ref stopped Redmond from running the ball into the box and potentially squaring it to an unmarked Shane Long for a virtual tap in, for 2-0. But allowing them to take the free kick where he did, was beyond belief. Surely there is a code of practice (other than the laws which state the free kick should be taken from where the offence was committed) that any decent ref would adhere to, to stop so much yardage being stolen. The ref wouldn’t allow a free kick in the centre circle to be moved 15 yards closer to the goal, so why allow it in any circumstance? Yet another ref who needs removing from the Premier League list.
That's the issue, it was Moss, who is either completely incompetent or is deliberately biased ,(aka a cheating ****). There is no other option available I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire
What are people's main complaint with the ref? Don't think the timing was an issue and had no choice with Mayas second yellow. Can't remember the first though?
The first yellow was scarcely a foul, let alone a yellow. The main thing though is the free kick after the non-foul by Redmond.
Like I say I don't remember the yellow and I didn't think it was a foul on Redmond at the time and would like to see it again. Generally speaking though we can't blame refs for where we are at the moment, that's down to poor management.
The trouble was that should have been his first yellow. His actual first card was a joke as he didn't even commit a foul, and don't even get me started on the Redmond free kick! The main problem is that Moss has somehow convinced the FA that he is an actual referee rather than an incompetent chancer
