Did anyone read “Jonathan Moss” and not think there would be at least one almighty terrible decision in the game? I remember seeing his name and thinking “oh dear”. At lease it’s Michael Oliver on the more important game.
If we end up relegated then it's because we haven't been good enough. Everyone has been on the wrong end of bad decisions. It's easy to blame them but at the end of the day we are where we are because of how **** we've been.
And if we hadn’t been robbed blind by incompetent referees we would be on 37 points now. It’s easy to blame referees who don’t know their arse from their elbow.
Premier League had to appoint Oliver really. We've won 3 times with him as ref this season as well so a good omen!
Not denying how **** we’ve been Tom, but those 4 points weren’t down to our being outplayed by the opposition in any way. They were entirely down to bad refereeing.
The only 'luck' I can think we've had is vs Burnley away. McCarthy handled outside his box, and I think should have given away penalty as well and Gabbiadini scores in injury time to equalise. That is all the 'luck' I can remember having....It certainly hasn't evened out!
I've been banging this drum for a while. We are one of several 'average' sides, but we have had no luck at all. Call it what you like....I am not attempting to make 'luck' a real thing...but we have had very little go our way. I'm calling our share in now!!
The reality is that we are where we are more due to the incompetence of MP2, and the staggering incompetence of the board in sitting there watching a car crash for so long. Trouble is, the refereeing cock-ups we’ve suffered have been major ones, and seem to have resulted in goals. The other obvious cock up yesterday from memory was not awarding Everton the world’s most obvious corner. We didn’t go up the other end and score from that though, which is what seems to be happening so often against us. The problem with the free kick mess that led to their goal yesterday, was the fact it was a double bollock dropped. Big messes and big moments.
Yes I remember the 'corner'. The commentators were saying what a important clearance, but then no-one except the Everton player seemed aggrieved it was a goal kick. Baffling.
And who knows, maybe in a sliding doors moment they score from that corner and go on to beat us. Jonathan Moss, in fairness, is one of the league’s more consistent referees though. He’s consistently ****.
I don't see it as blaming them Tom, but you cannot deny but for those bad decisions we would not be as bad off as we are. You are right to argue that we should have done better and with better board decisions etc we would not possibly be in this ****ty position. We have been crap it is true but bad decisions not in our favour have played a big part you cannot deny that.
Everyone apart from Tom knows how embarrassingly awful the refereeing is in this country. But every team will be able to point to decisions at some point during a season where they were hard done by
Just a quick one... if 30s was added for our goal, why wasn’t any time added on for Evertons? Too far? I’ll stop now
