Maybe attitude comes into with young Mr Annan? How many conversations has he had with Beale etc demanding a loan move? Did he try and organize one himself?

I read an article on James Maddison in the guardian today.

Last season Maddison requested a loan in search of game time and moved to Aberdeen. It is easy to overlook the fact he joined Norwich in January 2016 because it is only now he has made a lasting impression, under Farke. “I didn’t just become this player that can make things happen in the summer,” he says, clicking his fingers. “It’s always been there, nothing’s changed but I just needed that chance.”

If he's good enough scouts from other teams lower down watch us and would be looking to take him on loan. They haven't. It's a shame and a lot do just need a chance.
Anyone who has watched the ressies know Bowen stood out as he just had that extra drive to make it. Olley is a lovely footballer but just doesn't have that. Neither does Annan. Maybe they'll find it.

Well, my many years at Hull City have finally come to an end, I’ve loved ‘nearly’ every minute of it and I’ve made mates for life, but it’s time I moved on. Thanks to the staff that have supported me on the way and all the best to the lads in the future #hcafc #completed

Must be heartbreaking, so close to your dream and having it taken away from you.
These lads have been the best in the area, if they're from hull or ER, since they were 5 years old in some cases.

Some might make it somewhere else. Some will go to ferriby etc some will just drift out of the game.

    Tough to take.

It is very harsh. They must know not many make it to the first team but when football is your life its hard to let go of the dream.

Have to chuckle at Luer sticking his beak in, he can't even score for ****ing Maidstone.

None of them are good enough that's why no one wants to loan them.

Stop whinging and get a proper job.

i know what it's like to lose a dream, i should be a footballer
i have sympathy for these lads
but how hard did they work for it?
they had the opportunity, did they work as hard as they possibly could? did they seriously do everything they could to make it?

these tweets are pathetic, they wouldn't be shared on here if the allams weren't here

and football is a cut throat business
take our academy and take ever other academy in the uk..

    lads are always cut..

it's incredibly hard, only the very very very best even make it to lower league level
nevermind the absolute top of the game. roberston is one of those incredibly rare players that in 6 years has gone from almost no football career to a champions league final, which is why i hope his team wins it, perhaps will annan will be in champions league final in 2024? no chance, he's not talented enough, i think there is more of a chance of winning the lottery than making it as a top player.

bowen, clark, tymon, cullen, atkinson, wiseman and i guess cooper are all players that have played regular league football for teams

and this was before the academy got improved, expect more in the next 5-10 years

that's a good outage for the academy at the moment

players being loaned to clubs like north ferriby or maidstone are probably not going to make it to the higher level
it's ridiculously hard to even make it to league football
least these lads being released can play non league football, dog eat dog world
they ain't good enough at the moment and you can't keep them on the books forever

and for what it's worth, tymon is trash

we just can't expect more from our current academy setup
every other club in the country has an academy and then take every single other european club

for a player to actually make it in league football is a success for us
if we signed max clark in sept 2017, people would be thinking he's ****
he's from hull, so he get let off, he's ****e

the one thing the allams have done right, is improve our academy setup
which won't see results for another 10 years +

the one major problem with uk academies is no education, so we get players paid ridiculous amounts of money for doing nothing in the game, any players at uk academies should have to get an education like in german or spanish academies
it's as much about football as it is doing good in school

Most kids at academies don’t end up being professional footballers, only the cream will make it in the game, everyone is aware of that (including them).

The specific criticism here, is that barely any of our lads ever go out on loan to football league clubs at an early age and it’s a reasonable criticism.

The lads do get an education, our academy is at a college ffs.

It's not though is it. How many championship clubs send loads out on loan? Very few I imagine.
Only top pl clubs send out loanees.

The ones we have sent out like luer and Edwards haven't played.

Norwich 19 this season, Boro 16 this season, most at league clubs and those were just the first two I looked at.
