Nigel's words. I certainly don't think Nigel is a liar or a bullshitter. “Max Clark has had a contract on the table, he’s well aware of it,” Adkins said. “I’ve been playing him and I want him to stay at the football club and like everybody young Max has got a representative who is giving him advice, he’s been given a good contract to stay at this football club and obviously his agent is putting him out there. “He’s rejected the contract that has been offered to him, that’s where we stand with it. I want him to be at the football club, I’ve told him that, I’ve been playing him and he’s out at the moment with a hamstring injury, which is a shame. “If he goes there is going to have to be compensation, he’s not going to just walk away for nothing, there’s going to have to be compensation. He’s been offered a deal, he’s come through the academy and you want him to be at the club. “He’s been offered a better contract then he was on, so he’s already losing money. The representative has to do what they think is right for Max, hopefully it’s not detrimental to his career.
Sounds about right. Why players need these agents is beyond me, they're like blood sucking leeches. He's got 2 choices sign it and don't be greedy (if it's a reasonable offer) or **** off elsewhere and see what you get offered, he's hardly a world beater that can command a big deal.
Some selective editing there Chazz? “If he signed the contract that he had been offered in the first place, then he might have followed Jarrod Bowen and signed another different contract.” Seems he’s saying it was a bit ****, but if he’d signed it he might have been offered a better one later, as Bowen was.
I didn't say i didn't believe it. I asked to put the wage on. sorry mate didn't edit anything. So they've offered what they think he's worth? Why was Bowen willing to sign another different contract?? For us!!!
The issue must be with this particular level of player. Bowen is one of our best scorers and assisters so his worth is there in black and white. Ehab presumably can understand why he's worth keeping. The kids who haven't played a game will have to accept anything because they aren't getting other offers. The ones like Clark and Tymon who've established themselves as pros but aren't yet stars in our team he probably thinks why should they get X amount which is the going rate for an established pro. But it's the going rate because that's what everyone else pays them and everyone else in football knows they simply won't stay for a few hundred a week when their market worth is much more.
Again you don't read anything. Bowen signed a contract, happy to sign it, when he did well he was offered a much improved contract. Which he was also happy to sign. He wanted to be here, good advice from his dad. Get games. In a supportive atmosphere you know well. If form drops off, as it can with young kids, he could have gone back in the ressies and build up again. Tymon took the money and look what's happened. Coming home far too regularly, isolated in. A strange town with no support. Then out on loan to a place further away. Not done well there either. More time coming home, less time spent getting it right on the training pitch. He might come through all of that. He might not. If I was Clark I'd sign here. Personally I hope he goes and we go in for another left back, aren't we after Mason from Donny?
