    Championship Points in 2018

    52 Fulham
    42 Cardiff and Villa
    41 Wolves
    39 Millwall
    37 Middlesbrough

Fulham have earned 59 points in the run of 23 games undefeated. Only one team has bettered that in the second tier of football - Spurs got 60 points from 23 matches .... in 1949 !

Lets hope we have 55 after 24 games and Cardiff make 43.

Just as an aside Cottager, has anyone else noticed you look a bit like Slavisa? You may notice I always ensure my photo is of my Best side.

Good job the season is over 46 games then, eh?

    Squeaky bum time on Sunday.

Amazing run you guys have been on. Fortunately for us you got a slow start.
    Still all to play for.

Fair play ccfcremote, you've been consistent all season. Makes you wonder what's happened to justice in this land though.

Didn' realise the game was about artistic impression. Thought it was about scoring more goals than the opposition.

Even if you finish above us we'll still have WON more games than you this season.
If we finish above you you'll claim your stats and that it was a travesty.
If you finish above us, isn't unfair that the team with the more wins didn't go up. Or perhaps the team that spent the more money should be promoted. You again. Surely the team who spends the most deserves to go up.

Whichever way it goes, a he'll of a season for both clubs.

I think remote's talking about goals against the opposition in a game, not overall. Maybe +9 in goals over us but we are +2 in games won more than you - that's what matters. If you'd won 2 of the 13 games you only managed to draw you'd be promoted by now and this last game wouldn't matter.

As for the stats - bollocks to them. The only stat that matters in this division is the table after Sunday. Points get you promotion not pats on the back. Hopefully we'll have at least one more than you. <ok>

    No offence meant. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Couldn't agree more, Oldsparky. During the season, the table can be misleading; once everyone has played all their games it never does. Every single club could point to matches where they should have got something more, or where the ref was against them, or whatever. Over 46 games you get what you deserve. If the season had started in December, we'd thoroughly deserve to go up automatically, but it didn't and we can't just dismiss our poor start when we think about who deserves what.

That said, I still haven't given up hope that the table that never lies will be saying Fulham are the second best team in the division come Sunday night. Anything can happen on the last day of the season, and after all the shenanigans of last season, there would be something quite poetic about our not-so-popular former player Chris Martin scoring for Reading to send us up!

To use that old TV series opening voiceover (was it Stingray?) - "anything can happen in the next half hour" - or at least that last one and a half hours.

We could still slip at the last hurdle - it has been known before - but I've got a feeling for some reason that you will come unstuck at Brum anyway.

Still a memorable season for both of us, and no bullshit, apart from my own, you are the team I would have liked to go up from the start of the season. <ok>

An exciting if nervous Sunday ahead. May both teams win.:emoticon-0130-devil

As Brian Clough said to win any championship its down to 80% skill and 20% luck.

    Ahem, Norwich - I beg your pardon....<laugh>

We were away at Norwich to a side that had just thumped Villa 3-1 at their place. Warnock set up for a counter attacking game that went completely to plan - contain and frustrate them and then 2 brilliant goals at the death to take the 3 points - brilliant managership and team performance.

Now on the other hand you were at home to Sunderland, an already relegated side that were denied a draw at the very least by some truly embarrassing refereeing decisions - come on 58, you've got to admit that you got away with bloody murder that night.

It's generally said that luck evens out over the season but you lot would need to give away a couple of defelected own goals, the ref to deflect one in for Brum off his arse, and their keeper to throw it in their own net to equal it up....<laugh>

Any stats for tackles won, headers won, shots blocked and generally messing up the opposition?

Despite that, full credit to Fulham for your second half of season run. Played terrific football, great to watch and some superb players who would not be out of place in the Prem.

Just hope we get the auto slot and you win the play offs. We can then resume "mutual admiration" again next season.:emoticon-0148-yes:

Well, I was at the game and I'll grant you that 'TV pin-up Boy' Bankes was pretty rubbish. I can guess at the two decisions you believe went against Sunderland but that's brushing aside their tackles he let go. As for 'murder' ? The only sign of that was how we slaughtered them in the second half - do believe they didn't have a shot on goal in that time. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

Cheers Sparkey. Might have different styles but both sides have been equally effective in a bleeding tough League this season. And no question we've got the same ambition for next year.

Tell you what though, since we've been harking on about refs. Don't know who yours is, but we've got Attwell on Sunday and I'm not looking forward to that one bit!
