So we're ignoring the fact that this is the second time this has happened and again assuming that it's another greedy player. Funny how at other clubs young players are desperate to sign their first major contracts yet here academy players come through and are instantly filled with greed and desperate to leave. Of course it couldn't be due to any other factor could it.
Who else has left? Batty signed. Others have signed too. Bowen signed. Perfect example of sticking with it for your development and look at the results. Clark is ****e. If he came from Leeds no one would give a ****. He's been offered back up money. Kingsley is first choice on first choice wages. We aren't going to pay for two first team left backs.
I don't think he's **** but that isn't the point. I just think it's sad calling another player greedy when he leaves us under these circumstances. It's massively unusualy that an unproven young player like this would be rejecting a new deal. Almost unheard of. It must be an incredibly **** deal or there's something else incredibly **** about being here. It just doesn't happen that someone in his position would reject a deal.
So you have no other players rejecting deals then? Ok. none of us have seen enough of Kingsley. You have to go back A long time now, for us to see a player hit it into touch as often as max does.
A player who can get more money elsewhere, a player who can get a longer contract, a player who doesn't want to be here - I don't see what the problem is. We've all (I assume) changed jobs for better terms? In this situation everyone has loyalty for providing for their family and ****-all else, why should we judge footballers differently? I know all us football supporters are ****s but, hypocritical ****s ....... surely not?
The original comparison was with Tymon, that's who else I was talking about. It's very unusual for this situation to happen once. For it to happen twice in successive years and people still blame the player involved is poor form. To do so when the club in question is run by the Allams is just crazy.
Paul pogba. Fryatt rejected a contract as he was a back up and knew it. Fair play to him for going tho.
If the sole reason not to sign is the owners and the way the club is run, why have other youngsters signed on the dotted line?
In your opinion. In reality he's done alright. If he thinks he can do better elsewhere, so be it, he'll go. There are clubs that obviously rate him and will offer him what he wants, which probably isn't that much. It's nothing to do with greed. As you said, he isn't going to be first choice as that obviously goes to Kingsley under Adkins. He wants to play football. You think Millwall would offer higher wages than we could? Er, no. The club is at fault because, as usual, we're pissing him around trying to get the cheapest deal we can instead of negotiating properly.
Both Batty and Hamilton are a few years younger than Clark, by the time their contract expires they'll be the age Max is now. At which point we'll offer them crap money and they'll go elsewhere if we're under the current ownership. Once is a coincidence. Twice is likely. Three times is a pattern. So who is the next one to reject a contract? Meyler is a proven Championship midfielder about to leave the club for nothing. What's his excuse?
Just who are you basing this on? Bowen signed. Is this not registering?? They can go elsewhere if they're wanted. I don't see anyone coming for Annan etc do you? Yet as you know scouts are there at every game. Funny that. Batty has the chance, let's see if he takes it. I can remember posters saying Matty Dixon should be offered a deal. Where did he end up? Every year every academy turfs out a load of kids they've had for years. That's the way of the world. Let's see where max Clark goes eh. I'll buy you a pint if it's a championship club and he's first choice left back.
Rick’s just described the offer he’s heard Clark got as being ‘****ing disgusting’. Personally, I’m not really a fan, so I’m not too concerned about him going specifically, but we do **** about with these things.
There's people on here On zero hours contracts. The hurt and dismay of 4 or5 grand a week won't get much sympathy.
