PLEASE SOMEBODY ANSWER ME THIS??? With all the money spent on a new ticketing system.... why are the Club using Ticketmaster to sell tickets to the home Play Off game at the Valley?.... if we get through tomorrow!...... this is bound to make attending the game more expensive and complicated. We are a complete joke of a Club aren't we. AllHell
Simple answer, as I alluded to before. The Club no longer has the infrastructure or staff capability in place to handle such an operation in house.
Yes, but think of the money Roland saves through having a skeleton staff, no CEO, no chief of Finance, no permanent manager.
One further point - You will need to go to the Valley on Tuesday to buy Shrewsbury away tickets. But you won’t be able to buy home tickets at the same time...because Ticketmaster are handling that part ? FFS
This is the text of the news article on the CAFC website: Charlton could seal their place in the Sky Bet League One play-offs on Saturday evening and, should they do so, full information on their two-legged semi-final will be published on cafc.co.ukshortly after full time. The Addicks, who travel to Rochdale on the final day of the season this weekend, could still finish the campaign in fifth, sixth or seventh in the table. Should they finish fifth, Charlton will play Rotherham United over two legs. The first match would be contested at The Valley on Saturday, May 12th, with the away leg following on Wednesday, May 16th. A sixth-place finish would mean Charlton would take on Shrewsbury Town. The Addicks would host the Shrews on Thursday, May 10th and then travel to Shropshire on Sunday, May 13th. Should the Addicks make the play-offs, tickets for the club’s home leg will be sold via Ticketmaster. Home leg tickets will be available to buy online or by phone. They would go on sale – initially to season ticket holders and Valley Gold members – at 9am on Sunday morning. Full home leg ticketing details will be published on cafc.co.uk shortly after full-time on Saturday, should Charlton make the play-offs. In order to purchase tickets, Charlton supporters will need their Client Reference Number. All supporters on the club’s ticket database will be emailed theirs on Saturday and season ticket holders should be aware that their CRN number is displayed on their season ticket card. Away leg tickets would be sold through The Valley’s ticket office and would go on restricted sale on Tuesday morning. Full away-leg ticket information will be published on www.cafc.co.uk over the weekend. Hospitality packages for the club’s potential home leg play-off fixture will start at just £20 per person (+ VAT) and supporters interested in them should email [email protected]. It does seem from this message that tickets for the home leg of the play-off semi-finals will not be available from the ticket offices at the Valley. This is disappointing in my opinion, as I prefer to buy tickets face-to-face directly from the ticket office whenever possible, even if it means a journey across London to the Valley specifically to buy them. However they do also say that full details will be published on the website shortly after full time on Saturday. Perhaps the Ticketmaster option will not be the only one. Maybe home leg tickets will eventually be available directly from the ticket office, just not as early as 9am on Sunday.
@lardiman It’s far worse than disappointing- it’s bloody stupid & counterproductive With the game 2 days later ...how many will miss out in the post Only at Duchawankas Charlton do they go out of their way to p1ss the LOYAL fans off like this.
I have never used Ticketmaster so I have no opinion of it as a service. I would prefer to buy my tickets directly from the Club though. Will wait to see what "full details" the club posts on its website after full time tomorrow, then decide the best option for me.
If they are posted out by Ticketmaster on Tuesday you have two days to get them before the game. Many fans will go straight to the game from work (me included) so would have to wait for the postman. It is fvckin stupid ...particularly when you have to go to the Valley anyway to get the away tickets. Sell both sets you bellends ! It’s symptomatic of a club that simply doesn’t give a sh1t about its fans.
Will there not be an option to print your own tickets yourself if you buy them online (rather than by telephone)? As I said I have never used Ticketmaster so I genuinely do not know. However I don't want to rely on the postal service to deliver my tickets. That has always been my least favoured ticket buying option.
Almost guaranteed they will charge a fortune for posting the tickets out or just as much for the privilege of printing them at home.
Just set up an account with Ticketmaster. Depending on the full details to be posted on the CAFC website after Saturday's game I may or may not use it to buy my play-off tickets. Can't judge the service until I've tried to use it.
A few members on ITTV post messages which they know will wind up other forum posters who hold opposing views. The same thing happens here. I'm not sure it's fair saying that the whole forum is supportive because of the messages of a couple of members. Neither would it be fair in my view for anybody there to say this whole forum has a single view just because one or two members express that view. I would not have posted these thoughts, but your most recent post seems to be addressing me (having quoted me) thus inviting me to comment.
I think you would accept that Into the Apologist’s most vocal Apologists generally take the view that anything that p1sses off the real fans is a good thing ? Remember Paul May’s comments about wanting Red Bull Charlton ? Tonight we have the freak PL54 welcoming complex ticket arrangements that p1ss off normal fans. Not a word of criticism (yet) So yes, I think there is a “group view” over there
