I'm not particularly confident of a result, but would like to see our players fight to try to grind one out - if nothing else it will be good preparatipn for a title challenge next year, and it could even be good preparation for the final
Maybe. what i saw was a) brighton play Man utd (h) Man City (a) Liverpool (a) have 37 points b) west ham play Leicester (a) Utd (h) everton (h) have 35 points. I think they will get 38 to 40 points. Leicester don't seem to give a toss and everton are on hols c) huddersfield play City (a) cheslea (a) Arsneal (h). have 35 points they are in serious trouble here. Arsenal last game could be their out IMO 38 max d) swansea: bournemouth (a) shouthampton (h) stoke (h) have 33 points. this is the CRUCIAL club imo. they have easiest fixtures but two bottom 3 teams i nthere. e) southampton everton (a) swnasea (a) City (h) have 32 points so put everyone indanger. certainly have 6 points in them = 38 f Stoke ****heads... they can get max 36 points. So.... brighton are in the box seat but have zero expectations of a point really. ONe point this weekend v utd and i think they are safe. Stoke are irrelevant to us here. Southampton can catch brighton. For brighton to be in danger last day a) west ham need win v leicester to get to 38 points. if they do they will be ahead of brighton b) huddersfield IMO will still be on 35 points on last day so will be aiming to win v arsenal to get to 38 points c) swansea... really key. If they beat bournemouth and then lose to southampton.... (really seriously it could happen) then they would be on 36 playing stoke so could get to 39points d) southampton need to win v everton and swansea (this is certinly possible) =38 points. my fantasy prem table would be West ham 38 points Southampton 38 points Brighton 37 points. Swansea 36 points Hudderfield 35 points stoke who gives a **** west brom whowho? so in this scenario all 5 teams are still in danger on the last day. And if you look watford, bournemouth and palace are all on 38. 39 is the magic number. it is assumed one point will be enough for these teams Southampton are -19 current on GD so if they win 2 they will be far far better off than west ham and most importantly huddersfield. My view in this scenario is huddersfield are on -29GD and on 35 with 3 games but only a small hope of getting 38 points (if all goes to favorite games) Therefore brighton need one point and they will be safe on GD at worst last day. Lets hope they draw with utd. If they don't then they can be caught I think the absolute max anyone needs to be sae is 39 points and 38 will be safe on GD.
I can’t see both Swansea and saints getting the 6 and 5 points needed to overtake Brighton given they play each other. Means who ever loses would have to win both their other 2 games or if it’s a draw, they both have to win both their other games. Huddersfield in theory should get same amount of points as beighton from next 3 so shouldn’t overtake but obviously can’t guarantee that.
Mixed emotions. My mum was a lifelong blue, my dad a lifelong red. They used to watch the games in separate rooms, then not speak for 24 hours, unless it was a draw. They tried watching together once and it was fine until dad called John Terry a dirty bastard and it all kicked off. Last night was quite emotional, thinking of my dad missing it. Rodgers was still in charge when he died and Wenger had just beaten Mourinho for the first time in the Community Shield when mum died. So when either team is playing, I put their photo on the coffee table but not when they're playing each other. I think that's how they'd want it. Anyway, we've got the GD on them and 3 points from 2 games should not be beyond us. And how sweet that they have to go to Newcastle for the final game, with the FA Cup on their minds. Rafa will want to do them and do them good. Chelsea's historic form for the fixture since PL began: W6 D6 L9. Spoiled Londoners don't like the A1.
Chelsea are going to win unless TAA can pull off some more heroics in goal. That's ok though, we are going to win the Champions League, so don't really need top 4.
It is possible but unlikely. the complicating factor is how tough brighton have it. Huddersfield are imo **** in the **** but i think they can get out of it v arsenal with some luck. swansea: bournemouth and stoke. thats 6 points available right there. so can get 38 southampton: swansea and everton - they are the danger imo For me i think 38 is safe so if brighton get that one point v utd at home then great i think the rest will be sorted by the final day... Brighton don't score but don't concede so have the better GD. There is a scenario there that the team in 18th is on 38 and goes down. It requires southampton to win this weekend.
That would be very amusing... Never going to happen but I would almost take that over finishing 4th and winning CL.
I'd rather have two birds in the bush personally. Can't see what I would gain from having a bird in my hand... ... I guess a rotisserie chicken would be nice in my hand. If it's KFC, throw it in the bush, that stuff is nasty.
You can make soup with it, ready to eat, instead of chasing two in the bush that you might not have access to
