how crucial we keep him just for that option he give us as plan B? .. Arsenal had that with Giroud and he saved their a$$ many times .. they miss him .. as we will miss Fellaini if he left
when we lost Lukaku today, there was no one to send long balls too .. he changed the game, bcz suddenly we have a target in box .. if we are letting him leave, we should sign someone as good in air

He is a plan B in many different ways. When we are being bombarded with high balls and under pressure he is the one that gets his head on things in the area not our CBs, when we are over run in midfield he is good at breaking play up and (regardless of how ungainly he looks) keeping hold of the ball in tight situations and making a simple pass out or clearance, when we need a goal in the last 10/15 mins he causes total chaos in the opposition box which often leads to goals for others and/or himself.
He will never be known as a great (or for many even good) player but he is a very very useful player.

Can't see why we wouldn't keep him. He's on a fraction of the wages of the top earners, would leave on a free, gives us a useful option.

As long as he's willing to keep playing off the bench then he will always be useful in situations like yesterday, where we are struggling to play through a team but we know Arsenal will always crumble under a bit of physical pressure.

I'd like to see him kept at the club.

He's by no means a 1st team starter but he is, as you say, a very good plan B. We just need to ensure he doesn't ever become a plan A.

Get rid - possibly the most unskilled player ever seen at United.

We used to add another dimension with players like Solskjaer, Sheringham, Tevez, Berbatov, Owen and Chicarito who were all a heck of a lot better than Fellaini.

Owen had one match when he changed the match , Tevez and Berb were regular starters
agree on Solskjaer, Sheringham in term of effectiveness but not as a plan B, the system don't change when they come , but with Fellaini is just more direct

He's also not a striker, the others are, so he's not the same.

Our equivalents to the strikers he listed are currently Rashford and Martial, not Fellaini. Fellaini is the Plan B.

When we use Fellaini as Plan B it's to throw him in the box to get a goal, like a striker.

They all had their own strengths. Solskjaer, Owen and Chicarito were pacy, natural poachers, Sheringham was creative and had intelligence to be in the right place at the right time, Tevez had boundless energy to harass the hell out of defenders and keepers, Fellaini... is tall.

Spot the odd one out :afro:

Well, yes. He's a specific player for a specific change of plan.

The players you mentioned were just subs, like Rashford and Martial.

It's the plan you don't like really but it's useful to have every so often and it does work. It's carthorse, no argument, but it can work.
