We will go and attack that's a fact, I think we'll score. RM may score more, it should be a good game we have a chance.
Choosing a winner out these two is like choosing death by firing squad or gas chamber. One is instant and one can drag on for ever so I’m hoping it is Los Ladrones
I love this kinda ****. In 1981 it was a royal wedding year and the European Cup Semi final was contested by a teams from England, Germany, Italy and Spain this ended in the final being Liverpool vs Real Madrid. please log in to view this image
Do we have any "British clubs" anymore? Foreign owned, foreign sponsored, foreign trained, immigrant best players etc What would Farage say?
I'd rather eat my dog's **** than support Liverpool. Bollocks to this 'but they're British' nonsense, I hope they lose every game they play in and always will. I'd expect Liverpool fans to feel exactly the same back. If they do win I won't begrudge them it though, they've done brilliantly getting to the final and I like Klopp as a manager so no issue there, congratulations if they win. I'm not arsed by the six times stuff either, I'm all about the league (as are United as a club) and anything in Europe is a fancy bonus. Been there done that, cheers. It's obvious that as soon as we sailed past their league title record the champions league becomes the big one to them. It's not to us, it's a cup comp that is a bit of a lottery. Great when you win it, meh when you don't. I can't see how any team with Karius in goal and Lovren at centre half can win it. Both are utter ****e. Their full backs are inexperienced and this will tell in the final, has to. Plus, as has already been said, Kroos, Modric and Isco are better than Henderson, Wijnaldum and the Leeds bloke could ever dream of being. The front three are decent enough but are capable of having quite games. As last night showed, Salah and Firmino were both invisible. Real to win. Piss it in fact.
I sort of feel the same about the CL as a Chelsea fan to be honest. I love the CL, the big occassions and the big games, and I would always want to be in it, for the prestige and financial gains, if nothing else. But it was only the Holy Grail for me until we won it, now, like you say, its like "been there, done that". Thats not to say I wouldn't be overjoyed at us winning it again someday, but yeah its a cup competition at the end of the day. The yard stick of a teams quality, imo, has always, and will always, be their league performance, at least in the PL, where it is competitive. If the quality of the league itself is ****e (like Scotland or La Liga, where only one or two clubs have a realistic chance of sustained success) then not so much.
I will always support the British club ... no matter who it is. Put simply ... I don't subscribe to the narrow minded mantra that my own club's achievements (or indeed lack of them) are somehow defined by the acheivements of other British clubs.
To be fair, its not so much because Liverpool are English, that i will be supporting them. I dont even support the England football team. It is purely because I do not like Real Madrid, and I hate Liverpool far less. Plus I like Klopp.
The league is always the true test of on-pitch prowess and resolve (both squad and manager) . The UEFA stuff was always a bonus spectacle for the better English league clubs, and the domestic cup winners. 1. In the PL era, the CL actually was actually of most value to club bean counters, as participation gave you a cash injection that perpetuated the vicious circle of the "Sky 4" . IMHO with the (current) levels of silly money in the PL, the usual suspects don't need that piggy trough (assuming they do not spend too long in the CL wilderness ... ) . 2. If it was still the "Champions Cup" rather than the CL, then the Poool would be stuck on 4 wins.
The above is probably going to be amended quite soon to : Based in the UK, but not majority owned or controlled or decisions made by UK citizens who reside in the UK for more than 90 days each tax year.
