The existence of God was also proved on Monty Python. A vicar beat an atheist in a wrestling match. John Cleese made the announcement "God exists by two falls to a submission" if I remember correctly.
I will try anything once so just for you AllHellLetLoose I am currently stripped naked and am dancing around said fire and a Maurice Dancer's pole for good measure. The pinkish suit I'm wearing is a bit wrinkled but not too bad for it's age. I thought I would leave you with that image in your head and prevent you from having to even think about praying tomorrow evening. If you do watch the match on the box spare a minute or two to contemplate this post. Thank you. (The rest of you might want to pray)
Given that all the regulars on here are no doubt conscious that we could well "do a Charlton" on Saturday....I think its a case of Come on Scunny tonight. Even a draw tonight Scunny v Plymouth means that we will be travelling to Spotland with our bicycle clips on
I have this perched up on my TV with a tea candle lit in front of it Prior to the game tonight I will chant to 'Saint Powell of the Valley' to bring home a win for Scunthorp.... please log in to view this image All hail Sir Chris Powell.
Watched most of that tonight - Scunmy the better of two ordinary sides. Plymouth running on empty. A draw will do us at Rochdale.
1st May update; One place left, two teams to compete for it. All Charlton need to do is avoid defeat to be certain of a play-off place. Plymouth need to beat Gillingham, hope Charlton lose and also hope for a seven goal swing between the two results. This is what the bookmakers think of that possibility; Charlton to finish in a play-off place ... 250 / 1 on (Skybet) Plymouth to finish in a play-off place ... 50 / 1 against (Skybet) Lee Bowyer and his team are on the brink of a stunning achievement.
I will conceed now because I cannot imagine we will reverse a 6 goal difference in one match. Even if we win on Saturday and you lose the game is still up. Royston Valley is right we were and are running on empty. We have half a squad left uninjured and there is nobody to fill in the gaps anymore. We have had a thin squad all season and the players have done a terrific job to finish where we have. None of us expected to be in this position in December and I for one had written us off. We do not have the money to go up anyway although I would still have bitten hands off to get there if we could. All credit to Scunthorpe who did a very professional job on us. No complaints from me as far as they are concerned. As for the play offs when they come I have to say I have no idea who is likely to end up at Wembley, Out of the teams left I would favour Shrewsbury and yourselves. Shrewsbury because I think they deserve it and yourselves because I sort of tipped you early doors when all of you were in gloomsville. But, may the best team win.
Even a narrow loss would be enough. Well done Lee Bowyer and the team, who have achieved the playoffs in spite of having Robinson for most of the season. Even if we don't get promotion Bowyer should get the gig for what he has done. You only have to compare the Valley on Saturday to the Valley for Robinson's last games to appreciate the scale of the turnaround.
Jesus is flying in from Spain (where he lives apparently) to support Rochdale against us? All that anti God stuff has obviously upset his father ..... what were the odds for the Pilgrims to reach the play offs?
Ha Ha!! That's you lot fecked then. Also brb has promised us at least 7 goals. I'm taking back the concede bit now. You're staying down......................
But @brb is not to be trusted He has been promising the Pikey's Meccano Stand will be demolished for at least 3 years He has also assured @baraettmattesvensson and I via DM that @AllHellLetLoose is about to be stripped of his Mod rights
You are forgetting that I am a Blood Brother from those days, too BrB's last DM to me read "time to get rid of Eeyore..leave it with me"
Not a problem ..... I'll have a word with @brb 's mum tonight and he will be straight to bed tonight without any tea
