In the 1998 / 1999 season Southampton climbed out of the drop zone for the first time all season in May. They won their last three matches, with talisman Matt Le Tissier scoring direct from a corner in a crucial win at Wimbledon. Saints' final day win over Everton consigned Charlton Athletic to relegation in their first PL campaign. I must admit I was in my final year at college in 1999 and was too stoned to remember much of that season. But it sounds epic and if we did it once - well we can sure do it again !!!!
Take your point but it's my impression of late really. Ok, Arsenal & Chelsea have good / excellent forward play but we folded in periods, in both & rode our luck a bit against AFCB & Leicester. Won't mention WHU (oops). Maybe MH's more forward play is having a negative affect on our defensive play? Need wins anyway, so I certainly don't have an issue.
I was kicked out by the police in that Everton game, for pitch-invading after the second goal went in. Thought all my mates were following me onto the pitch but it was just me.
Refusing to warm up for a game then offering to fight Sparky at the gym. Not going to work out well for him...
Not here perhaps....but he'll move on to another well paid job. Talented, but not a team player. Wants to be the main star who can do what he likes....but MLT he is not.
By the sound of it he’s increasingly becoming part of the club structure. This makes me very happy indeed. If only he can help get our strikers striking!
That was a great day out at Selhurst park. It was basically a home game, with the amount of Saints fans there!
That's the rumour going around, no one will actually know unless someone in the dressing room spills the beans.....but he is banished to training with the u23s so make of that what you will.
