Option three, and Theresa May is responsible for the policy and its implementation. Rudd was incompetent, May was vicious and uncaring. Speaking of cats.....
Has the Cabinet just become more Eurosceptic? The new Home Secretary Sajid Javid is a Remainer that has seen the light. If the Lords try to subvert democracy, the whole anachronistic House (filled with failed LibDems) should be pulled down.
Have to admit he cuts a pretty impressive figure. That power pose that all the Tories do really seems to work. please log in to view this image
A bit unfair - he's a bright guy, and an incredibly successful businessman from a humble beginning. It's an astute appointment, because it's spiked Diane Abbot's guns, who was enjoying playing the race card (which is about all she's good for)
Some of the comments about him from the left have been an absolute disgrace. It's almost like saying if you vote Tory you're not really black or Asian. Is that not a little bit prejudiced?
Comments like "coconut" have come from Corbyn's Left Wing (members of the Labour party) saying to black and Asian people, if you vote Tory or are a member of the Tory Party/Government, then you have betrayed your people and take orders from your white masters. These left wing trolls are as bad as extremists in UKIP - I see that a UKIP member of the North Welsh Assembly has been excluded for calling Chuka Omunna a coconut. Disgraceful.
It's all wrong everywhere. https://evolvepolitics.com/a-massiv...buse-is-going-viral-for-very-obvious-reasons/
Came across wrong that. I meant about him being the son of immigrants. A very good if not ironic appointment
I'm sure Javid will use his new influence to speak out against Islamophobia in the Tory party, as denounced by Baroness Warsi. The Muslim Council of Britain has called for an enquiry, which is yet to be forthcoming. No doubt the MSM will be all over it, though, just like anti-Semitism in Labour.
Anyone else voting in the local elections today? I did my bit on the way to work - two votes for random Labour candidates and one for Green. I have no knowledge of any of the individuals on the ballot paper, nor do I have any particular issues with my local council (Hillingdon - Tory), but always make sure to vote at every opportunity.
No elections near me, but I'm following some of the London ones closely, to see the number of votes gained by members of the newly formed centrist and Pro-EU Renew Britain party.
My vote is based on a the general fact that Tory councils are inclined to prioritise lower council tax over provision of services. I'm happy to pay more council tax if it means the place is kept clean, places are found for homeless people and there are good local facilities. Similarly, I'm happy to pay more income tax if it means a stronger NHS and better social services. It's a big state, little state thing.
If there's Islamaphobia in the Tory Party, it's been kept very quiet - even Diane Abbott hasn't mentioned it. It can't be that bad if they've just made a Muslim Home Secretary. I don't believe Corbyn has any Jewish ministers does he? He sacked Debbie Abrahams
