I don't read the BBC sport in too much detail mate, it's hard to get past all the stuff about women's football!
If the latter happens but the football being played over that time is depressingly dour, that is no fun for the majority of supporters.
Perhaps you can make up your mind. Are we deluded (no pressure to win trophies as we are therefore a small club) or an underperforming "Big" club. Strangely we seem to be getting battered for both when they are mutually exclusive. The Leicester season apart, I would say Money is the defining factor. The more resources you have, the better your chance of winning the league. City, United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have more than us, so anything above 6th is good, below 7th is disappointing.
Good point. Surely the quality of the entertainment being served up is important. Over the years we, like West Ham, have had an entertaining style of play. Wasn't one that won enough games for League titles but you'd go home thoroughly entertained even if the score was 2-3. Watching Maureen misuse the talent he has available is the greatest sin.
"The public can't be kidded. They know what they want to see, what is good and what is bad and what is just average. At least I believe they do." "We must always consider our supporters, for without them there would be no professional football. It would be better to have more fans watching football the way they like it played, rather than have a few fans watching football the way we would like it played." - St Nicholson
482 years ago today Anne Boleyn, Queen of England, is arrested and imprisoned on charges of adultery, incest, treason and witchcraft.
The problem I have with Spurs fans taking this standpoint is that they absolutely slated Wenger for playing attractive football and sticking to his principles, whilst he wasn't winning titles. Finishing in the top 4 without a pot was ridiculed by your lot and yet here you (not you personally) are now celebrating the very thing that you tried to mock for so long. I actually agree with your point, but it smacks of hypocrisy coming from Spurs fans.
Even if he breaks every scoring record on the planet he always be remembered for nicking teammates goals. Much like the joke about Pedro the sheep-..........
