I think if he was either good enough or well suited to the way Farke wants to play, they would have kept him as an option last season. Stats will never give the whole picture and I have seen very little except the snippets on channel 5 to judge otherwise but he may have come on this season and be just the non-goal scoring facilitator Farke needs? Bah!
I was at an Under 23 game in early October and another fan said he could replace JM in time!! #hesoneofourown
Be nice if we could churn out a JM each season wouldn't it. . Not sure whether to read anything into the "For now" quoted in his tweet.
Yes HQMC, I was wondering that and I guess if he feels he's not getting enough playing time at NCFC, he could well be off. From what I've seen of him, he could certainly get the fans excited.
With them getting promoted it also means he would continue his development at a higher level, so it might make sense foor all concerned. Is he ready for the greater physicality of the championship? Will he be our best option in his position? We may well have to wait until our sales are done before that decision is made. Bah!
At 20 now, he should be ready. The video clip suggests that he has the art of instinctive first touch passing that an AM needs. If JM leaves and with Wes gone, I'd much rather we give him a chance next season rather than spending money on a replacement that could be better spent on a new striker. He also has the advantage of being able to play on the wing or as a deep lying playmaker in a 4-3-3 formation, which may well be the way we play next season.
It'd seem rather odd loaning him to the Eredivisie because we don't think he's ready for the championship. Feyenoord, Ajax etc will be a far sterner test than he'll face here!!
Far sterner technically, but physically the championship is a different kettle of fish, one that youngsters can struggle in. Bah!
Michee Efete, following a season on loan with Torquay in the National League, has confirmed on twitter that Norwich have let him go. Can't say I'm too surprised, by 21 I guess he needed to be playing in a higher division.
Yes, sad but not unexpected. Wish him well for the future. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/efete-confirms-city-exit-1-5504687 Nine others have been released from the Academy, including Ramsey, who had been potential back-up at RB: http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/nine-academy-players-released-by-canaries-1-5505828 Good luck to all of them. The positive side is that all the others are deemed worthy of another one year contract.
Does anyone know what sort of contract Adam Idah is on? We seriously have to tie him up long time, attracting high level attention. Could solve our striker problem if DF is prepared to take the gamble, ( Rooney, Rashford are cases in point ). Playing with the first team squad will hopefully bring him on more quickly than U 18/ U 23 level. I hope he is at least involved in pre-season.
Totally agree, GE, especially as he's about to go on display for the RoI U17s. http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/canaries-striker-to-begin-euro-campaign-1-5504897 There's bound to be plenty of scouts looking for young talent and it would be a shame to see him snapped up the way Middleton was.
Our U16's beat Ipswich tonight, to win the "Hospital Cup" for the 4th time in a row. Don't know about you, but I think that's worth at least +10 goal difference to the senior team...
Idah was signed as a Scholar last summer. I don't know the rules for "Scholarship Agreements", but would guess it means he's not on a professional contract. (?) Does anyone else know? http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...idah-as-first-year-academy-scholars-1-5117304
http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/sittard-coach-impressed-by-norwich-loanee-1-5508748 No chance - we want him back!!!!
Whilst the lad is obviously skilled and a great prospect that wedon't want to lose, It makes me a little worried with the comment that he can be lazy, could we have an edwards on our hands? If he is in anyway lazy, I can't see him making the step up to the first team long term, because Farke and most managers won't and can't tolerate any passengers. Hopefully it's one of those comments to give him the necessary kick up the jacksie to kick on. Bah!
