It's the .relatable characters and the character development and just the journey.

There are very very few films that are not predictable .

You could actually argue rocky 1 wasn't predictable. He lost the fight

Sixth Sense ... Usual Suspects ... both excellent .. and both had me.

 

Have to say I watched the rings trilogy and wasn't all that amazed by them. Watchable and decent enough but once was enough

 

Never read the lotr books but realy enjoyed the films

As for the Exorcist, i have to agree, what a heap of ****.

 

I like bond type movies

They are what they are, escapism

I haven't seen Schindler's list as that's not something I can just watch for entertainment

 

Sixth sense, no.. Usual Suspects is superb, great film.

Not seen sixth sense but know the plot twist so there's no point watching it now lol

 

The books are even better ... Jackson had to leave large portions out just to make the story fit ... particularly the first book ...

Clerks (1and 2) , mallrats, chasing Amy, dogma etc

 

lotr are my favourites in that kind of film theme.

Lol why does this not surprise me. The books were ****ing long and long winded. Way too much description of every season.

Lot of poetic licence in The Hobbit ... clever ... but lots of additional stuff not in the book ... needed to be to make it a trilogy ...

 

Hobbits were a let down (but still ok) compared to lotr.
