****sake you just just watching that stuff now? Rocky 3 and 4 are ****in awesome....4 just about shades it....brilliant soundtrack
May have seen bits when I was younger. Deffo don't know what happens in the stories. It was same with star wars 4 5 6, die hards blade runner etc, pulp ficton .Just watching then in past 2 years
People are divided which are better, 1 and 2, or 3 and 4. Seems we are in the latter. Although 3 is the best imo.
Yup .I will be starting 3 on my way to work tomorrow 2 is better than 1 .one of those rare things where number 2 is better than number 1. Off the top of my head is T2 and empire strikes back. Not many more really.
Never really liked the Rocky franchise or Star Wars ... Rocky too predictable ... but great Soundtrack Star Wars ... just not my thing Not overly fussed by James Bond films either... I also think it has a lot to do with the age you are when a film comes out ...
Unique ... and not easily impressed ... some of the acting in the Rocky films is unbelievably cheesy ... Now I loved Raging Bull ... the Godfather trilogy ... The Blindside (now that's an underdog film) , Dances With Wolves, Full Metal Jacket, Silence Of The Lambs, Hacksaw Ridge, Gladiator ... Monty Pythons classics ... ... but a guy who gets the holy crap beaten out of him yet always manages to somehow win when he should be in a coma is just too cheesy ...
But you said I also think it has a lot to do with the age you are when a film comes out ... I don't get that bit concerning the films you listed.
I think Spurlock is talking more the spaghetti westerns, Fistful of dollars etc. They were great, but havn't aged well well.
You dont have to be into westerns to watch likes of unforgiven, the good the bad and the ugly etc Or tombstone and Wyatt earp etc
If I'd seen the Rocky films when I was 10 ... or Star Wars when I was 12 I might have been more impressed ... I read The Hobbit when I was at Primary school and The Lord Of The Rings shortly after ... I loved them ... That undoubtedly influenced my enjoyment of Peter Jacksons films ... but if I'd just seen them as films as an adult I might not have been impressed... slightly tangential in terms of including books ... but the principle is there ... Saw The Exorcist when I was about 15 - scarced the living crap out of me ... watch it now a nd find myself laughing instead ...
