    Thor Ragnarok. 5/10

Didn't enjoy this much at all. I read on various sites about how funny it was and how the comedy made it a great film. Rubbish. The comedy was **** and couldn't disguise a poor film/ story. I was looking forward to seeing Cate Blanchet in her role as Hela, while she looked stunning she really had **** all to do.

But I've seen Avengers Infinity War. 9/10

Totally different kettle of fish. Written by the guys who wrote the Winter Soldier you can see the difference talented writers make. While not everything was spot on the action was great and the story is compelling rollercoaster. See it at the cinema.

I think Captain America is my favourite Hero out of all the Marvel / DC hero's.
Probable because of the writers have got him spot on.

Saw Infinity War last night as my house mates (sort of) dragged me. haven't seen half the marvel films or age of ultron so this is from a non fanboy.

I quite enjoyed the comedy in it.

Lots of action, good fight scenes, i was entertained throughout

Stories a bit sucky though, i liked how i didn't see the ending coming until the fanboy i went with told me it was a 2 parter, so now from a pretty silly story (i know it's a super hero one), it's now going to be even more ridiculous when everyone gets saved (ineivitably).

    7.5/10

    I agree it's inevitable.

all you need is look at who vanished to know the ending.

    my view was

    a) funny... especially thor carry over.
    b) epic is scale. beats star wars rogue one all ends up. vast scale.
    c) too long. final battle was largely unncessary.
    d) absolutely massive plot hole in the thing. the villian even named it.

I thought captain was improved in this one over civil war.

I felt iron man was better too.

I dunno as i though Thor ragnarok was just a characteristic film from that director and as such was as advertised. i thought it by far the best movie in franchise

no, I think the character is the same, everything is black and white, no compromise. but I agree that this and TWS are better over all stories. but saying that the Civil War story line was great but, imo, not quite realised to make it up there with the other two films.

    Just back from infinity wars.

It was good, but just that....some excellent CGI and some surprisingly ropey sections too.

As has been said...ending pretty much predicted due to the nature of the MacGuffin.....as is the resolution in part 2.

Actually agreed with Chris Hemsworth who wasn't happy that his character went back a step from Thor 3 personality wise.

They also couldn't make up their minds just how powerful some of the characters should be... the original avengers film level or closer to the comics ...jarred a bit occasionally.

But hey it's comic book stuff.... so I just enjoy for the sake of it.

Yea I thought jumanji was okay too. Nothing groundbreaking. Funny in parts but entertaining.

Karen Gillan was fit in it.

Just finished rocky II. This really was a masterpiece. 10/10

One of the few series where the second is better than the first (empire strikes back is another and maybe T2).

The emotional ups and downs .loved it

You have to agree that Thor post ragnarok was far too easily beaten in the opening sequence yet then later was mythically powerful.

Rocky series is quality but for the 'chick flick moment's that lay about 20mins in each film

    Rocky II is my favourite

It's the same with Vision, Scarlet Witch and the Collecter (who is an elder just like ego) ... one minute incredibly powerful the next, knocked flat by just a strong alien...

    Also

Mark Kermode got his criticism (while saying good film for fans) spot on.

With Time travel devices/alternate reality etc... there's is a risky line that nothing you see has consequence. . That with a flick of whatever... things and events can be reversed ... this resulted in me being emotionally detached from some of the events because I can't trust that in the end it will happen at all.

Trying my best not to be specific here lol

Yes but Thanos is typically strong and was holding an infinity stone. Vision was just annoying any way imo.

The whole issue for me is Thanos called it on screen. Why the **** didn't Dr strange not just reverse time and deal with thanos......

I can only assume that specific action was some of the 18 million paths to the future Strange somehow saw in a few minutes lol and it didn't work... he literally said only one version had them winning....

But as I said..start playing with time travel as a device and plots go out the window very quickly. It doesn't matter in comic books because you can have 5 years worth of a timeline and then boom.... none of it happened or new writers come in and say "new reality" .... the film's won't have it that easy.

Obviously he didn't see starlord being a Dick.

Why didn't he just rewind time, trip up starlord and shoot Thanos in the head

It's dumb anyway boys. In the scenes he was turning knives and guns into bubbles or distorting reality. Then in the final he was getting beaten up so dumb.
