Ok, maybe in the light I'm remembering the times rather than the tunes, I'll retract that and go for Dead - Young Fathers
That DJ Shadow album was brilliant. Loved the stuff Mo Wax were putting out back then Did you ever kop that Money Mark album 'Mark's Keyboard repair' ? He was the Beastie Boys keyboard player.
That's a big yes love that album and was listening to the follow up album push the button only the other day, barely anyone is aware of him.... which is sad. For me Entroducing is one of the greatest albums of all times, I've got a poster of the sleeve art for the album up in my living room, managed to pick it up when I went to see him last year, a great show and still producing some great stuff. His latest album is spot on and for any true hiphop lovers nobody speak is a ****ing classic.
Motley Crue - Too Fast For Love Most of the 80's/90's glam rock is unlistenable now but this still hold its own still, a really raw sound that runs through the whole album with Mick Mars ripping it up throughout.
Bad News was a Spinal Tap parody, which itself was a parody.. Loved Bad News and most of the Comic strip stuff, pure genius. Lost many hours getting stoned with my mates and creasing up, rolling around on the floor watching that stuff. Good times
The parody of The Professionals (The Bullshitters) was class and A Fistful of Travellers Cheques was ****ing brilliant!...
I've got that. I find it a really cold, boring and depressing album. Tried to like it but I ended up turning off!
I know what you mean though, it's got a melancholic feel to it. I quite like the stripped down homemade feel of it. And there's funky as **** clav on that album too.
Totally agree, although IMO push the button is a better album IMO doesn't seem to have done much recently though, ****ing shame really.
