It all sounds just too good to be true...what if he has clauses which means he pockets any monies and passes the club onto some non-league minnows with little funds and experience?

Certainly sounds like they're ****ed financially until the debt is cleared - basically borrowed from an upmarket loan shark

So they aren’t actually fully debt free and are still semi ****ed?

I'm assuming that Short accepted the loss of his own debt, but can't see he'd pay off the loan to SBC (including all interest or penalty clauses) as well.

The fact that they've got themselves involved in the land sale deal as well suggesrs they aren't going away soon...

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but Sunderland are only the 3rd team ever that got relegated in successive seasons and finished bottom and ironically enough Wolves and Fulham hold that dubious honour are the other two.

    KARMA

2016: Sunderland Association Football Club conceal Adam Johnson’s confession of being a child molester so that he can help them avoid relegation from the Premier League. Scores of Sunderland fans are filmed celebrating and revering Johnson’s ability to sleep with anyone, regardless of whether they want it or not.

2018: Sunderland relegated to League 1.

Don’t piss off the footballing Gods.

They are a feral bunch of scumbags. Supporting that nonce and getting up to all sorts of wrong stuff in the Fullwell end sums them up.

They are and always will be firmly in our shadow and an embarrassment to the North East.

In fairness no more nails are required. Relegated bottom of the league already. Wolves deserve to celebrate promotion in style though.

Had a message from Gala. He says you're full of 'wind and piss' and he's having a great night in watching X Factor and crying into his Dominos pizza. "Great times" apparently.

Anybody know what would happen if the EFL deem this Donald fella to be unfit to run the club? Where would that leave them as Short has buggered off now.

There will be clauses in the asset transfer so it would revert to Short if this non league bloke were not to be allowed to take over.

The sale hasn't gone through and can't until he is deemed fit. It will simply be agreed in principle I assume. Short would simply be back at the helm and less interested than ever. Its a bit of a formality when you look at some of the owners knocking about however.

Whether he has the money or financial backing to do anything with them is the question. If they are debt free, and can offload the likes of Khazri, Dijilobodji, Ndong, Cattermole, O'Shea, Rodwell, Oviedo then they should have quite a bit of flexibility financially to install them as immediate favourites for League 1.
