We have made more chances, yet are losing at half time. We are still in the game, but could easily ship some more goals.
There was plenty to admire about our efforts. Some really good inter passing, and we created as many chances as Spurs.
Good effort lads. Stats show a draw the fair result . More of that on Saturday and surely we’re in with a decent shout.
Bit like the Arsenal game - a few chances and dangerous moments but usual bad defending cost us. Hughes very good again but rest of attack pretty patchy although Gerry D looked lively. Atmosphere not bad - taking the mick out of the Spurs fans mainly !! We all know what the issues are - let's hope it's all sorted come the summer .
I think we can give the players credit for the effort if not for the inevitable shooting of the foot at the back and a lack of end product up front. Had this been either of the last two seasons we would have sleep-walked into a 4, 5, 6-0 defeat.
We cannot keep saying "oh well it was bad luck but we played ok" Next season we might not get away with such a bad run.
Played well in spells but continues to highlight our issues - mainly in defense and in attack. I hope to see Gomes starts Saturday. I like the CB partnership of Kabasele and Cathcart, although felt they should have done better with the 2nd - Kane slips, gets up and still has lots of space. Holebas can just do one - the throw-ins are pointless, he needs to be off set-pieces, and in general, just not good enough. Mariappa is decent at RB but I's like to see Femenia go back there and Delofeu start at RW (if he is fit enough) Doucoure and Capoue I just don't really like together, but not sure there is another option there are the moment. Hughes very good again, and would kind of like him to drop back to CM alongside Doucoure against Newcastle, with maybe a more attacking line up with 2 up top. I thought Richarlison played well in spells but really needs that goal for confidence. Gray did ok I thought, other than that shot he should have done better with - linked up pretty well at times and would like to see him start Saturday alongside Deeney So yes, against Newcastle I'd like it to be; --------------------Gomes----------------- Femenia--Cathcart--Kabasele--(god knows) Delofeu--Hughes--Doucoure--Richarlison -----------Gray---------Deeney--------------
Mariappa or Femenia at left back and the other at right back The rest i would agree with If Deloreu's goal had stood, which it should have Spurs may well have crumbled, they did not look comfortable until the second goal We actually had more efforts on target then they did Dele Ali and Kane are two of the most obnoxious player in the Prem and i do not look forward to see them playing for England in Russia
