They didn't make a massive loss on Gyan they got a £6m loan fee and another £6m when the deal was made permanent. Though I missed an entire transfer window off the numbers I posted before, so it was bollocks anyway.
I almost feel I'm being wooshed by such a ridiculous resonse 1 - the only reason Junior ever played in the Prem was because his dad picked him - no one else just his dad - that doesn't mean by any stretch of the imagination that he was good enough - he wasnt And 4 - as soon as Brucie got us relegated - the Allams sold arguably our 2 best players in Chester and Brady and after that changed strategy from spending to grow the club to getting their money back - Brucie left because they wouldn' give him another £40 million to spunk - personally I don' blame them - he was supposed to take the club to a new level - he did the Championship - and that was it for the Allams the risks were too high - spending millions didn't guarantee success - why else do you think they stopped putting any more money into the club
1) Its a FACT. He played there on many occasions. Doesn’t matter who picked him or whether anybody else did. That, by definition, means he’s good enough. 4) I stopped reading after you said the Championship is a new level. Before Bruce we’d spent 2 seasons in the top flight in over 100 years of our history.
I had my concerns over Steve Bruce and wanted him to leave well before he did, but he can't and shouldn't be held responsible for the mess we're in, that is all down to the Allam family management of their business.
Are you contrary on purpose all the times or do you just like a good disagreement. I quote exactly what you typed: "You talk as if spending £30m is a lot by Premier League standards." Please tell me how that can be interpreted any way other than to say that 30m is not a lot by Premier League standards, to which I then put the amount in chronological context, meaning I was saying that back in 2011 30m was a lot and he should probably have done a lot better. All opinion however.
I quote exactly what you typed: “Relatively speaking you'd be hard pressed to argue that it wasn't a decent war chest back in 2011.” Decent isn’t a lot.
