It backs up nothing, you're guessing and posting tripe.

Not sure why the aggression when all I started by saying was from what it sounds like from his running of Eastleigh - buying frees and getting in loans - he doesn't have much money. Hopefully for Sunderland the Consortium has quite a bit to get them going again.

    The end.

What agression? Your comments are based on uninformed guesswork and are tripe, rubbish, nonsense or whatever you find a non-agressive response to a daft post.

Calling my comments tripe when they were based on comments I've seen from people that know a bit about Eastleigh. OLM also seemed to jump down my throat.

Feel like there's a bit of transference going on here so I'll bow out now.

My first response when reading it on Sky earlier was similar to yours in that I too thought he may personally lack the necessary funds. The only difference is that I also hope the consortium lack them too.

Silly example of saying something daft and then playing the victim. Try reading what Ellis Short said and look for the right indicators that might show you why your comment is tripe; then again...

Anyone know who Adam Pearson was involved with in bidding for Sunderland?

Swanny's not holding back this morning...

Hull City has had its heart and soul ripped away and it's going to take some mending

Peter Swan says he feels sorry for the disillusioned fans and he can't see how it is going to change next season

please log in to view this image

Watching the likes of David Meyler and Michael Dawson parade around the KCOM Stadium pitch for what’s sure to be their Hull City goodbye with just a few hundred fans in attendance was tough to see.

I imagine it was tough on the players too with so few fans there. Can you blame the supporters for getting up and walking out on the final whistle? No, not in the slightest.

Many will have not thought about waving the players off, they’ll have just wanted to get out of the stadium and get home, get to the pub or get anywhere else after a poor afternoon watching another rubbish display in a miserable season.

You can’t question why the supporters were not there at the end, it’s obvious why. The fans are disillusioned and can’t see a way out of this current predicament.

Slowly over the course of the past two years the heart has been taken out of the club. It’s not been quick, it’s been an agonising slow operation which piece by piece has taken away the heart and soul of the club and right now, fans are wondering is it going to ever get better!

That’s why they didn’t stay, that’s why so many have stayed away this season and that’s why even more are likely to stay away next season.

I feel so sorry for those supporters. To have been through so much with this club over the years and then finally get on a great footing and enjoy the highs of the last 10 years, which the City owners played a big part in too. But to then see that chipped away to the state we are now in when the only thing that feels certain is that everybody is questioning where the club goes from here.

Nigel Adkins is already talking about the possibility of needing to do more loan deals next season and hinting that he doesn’t know what the budget will be other than the fact it will be less than this year.

This is a squad that is about to lose a host of senior players and has already sold many of their stars in the last two years. It needs investment, not a small budget to piece together another squad. If that’s the approach then get ready for a season just like this one next year, maybe with a worse result.

I want to be positive about next year but right now I can’t genuinely see it getting any better at all unless there is investment.

If Adkins turns into someone of Pep Guardiola’s standing and somehow inspires a small squad with little investment to push for the play-offs then it’s possible, but it would take something extra special for City to he near the top half of the table next season unless money is spent.

Adkins has got himself back into football and will be recognised for keeping City up, so does he want another relegation fight on his hands next season? The manager wants to be backed and having kept the club up he deserves the backing from the owners too.

It is the last season with the parachute payments and so far it doesn’t look to me like those parachute payments have been spent on recruitment, so maybe it is time to get the cheque book out.

It’s going to take longer to win the fans back than it was to lose them unless there is a change at the very top and a new outlook from the club. It’s so sad and so frustrating the fall from grace has been such a big one.

I'm sure that there's a lot out there that wouldn't return even if the Allams completely changed their approach ( Me included )

That's no doubt true, but I suspect there's a great many more who would return if their approach did completely change.

I think three things are needed to get fans back:
1 - investment in a combative and competitive team.
We have had a pretty much full squad for a few weeks now but performances have been poor overall. We need fresh players who have not been down trodden for the last few seasons.
The lack of atmosphere / people staying back for lap of honour told a lot

2 - Realistic and effective pricing strategy
We need to retain current supporters and encourage others to return. This needs to be urgently addressed for both financial and match day matters

3 - Commitment from owners to adapt
We know they want to sell, and we want them to sell. However that won't happen with a relegation battling side with no atmosphere or assets.
A very simple solution would be EA coming out and saying "sorry, we got it wrong last season" and then support Adkins plans

Unfortunately I can't see it happening

I would.even Adam Pearson was in it for the money.but he was quite likeable. there is no need to be a complete twat while running a business.

I think it's much simpler than that...
    1. Allams sell up.

    The rest will follow.

Interestingly, it seems that Mal Brannigan is involved in this group (he was our Finance Director under AP).

Number 3 is never going to happen mate. I'm not sure they even want to sell, at least not whilst the parachute money isn't finished.

Goes in to Trigger mode - So what you saying then?

When was the picture taken? Say yesterday even if it wasn't just to give everyone a lift.

No idea, but the winter lights are out in the background and the pitch looks worn behind the goal, so I suspect it's a month or two back.
