Interesting comments by TF. I have only listened to the first 35 minutes but from what I understand
. Upset at comments aimed at him on social media.
. Working hard for training ground.
. New stadium years away but hinted at other options. I think Linford Christie is a better option by sounds of it.
. Not too concerned by FFP.
. Supported West Ham
. Likes safe standing.
. Would welcome meet with fans to improve LR.
. Thinks if he was graded regarding his time at QPR good/bad decisions he would get c+ (I keep saying they are dumbing down results).

 

After the time with Tango and Cash, it's actually refreshing to see someone a) admitting to mistakes, and b) making those mistakes genuinely and not out of any plan of malicious intent.

Far rather have TF at the helm than Briatore, Eccleston, Paladini, or their like.

 

Seems the podcast made enough of a splash to make a full article in The Guardian.

I must admit I was quite struck with how lukewarm he was when talking about both Holloway and Sir Les (e.g. "do we have the best manger or Director of Football in the World? No"). Not his usual enthusiastic self at all, but then he did caveat that by saying that he wasn't the greatest chairman in the world either so maybe he's just trying to sound realistic. I suspect that he's just being his usual honest self, but thought it worth mentioning..

Mmm.........easily one of his biggest mistake imo.

 

Holloway is not the worst, by far, of recent managers we've had here but I think a new, more ambitious manager is needed to take that next step up.

 

A good listen - I catch the podcast most weeks, and they seem to have a lot of the same worries/concerns/joys as most of us seem to have on here - the only subjects he was quite coy on were Mark Hughes (think he'd been advised to deflect these by the club), FFP (due to legal issues - although he did say he could do a 5 hour podcast once it's concluded, and the fans are not to worry) and the new stadium, although keen to say that the club are working on this every day. The Warren Farm NIMBYs are "a pain in the arse" but he's fairly confident this will pass through the latest appeal and the facility will be open in 2 years from start.

An honest sounding interview, and as said above, through all his faults, I'd rather have him than Tango & Cash, Paladini or Chris Wright - there are far less scrupulous owners out there.

 

This is a very good interview. Clearly, Tony is now a genuine fan (and has been for some time). He is very open and honest in this podcast... and would like to have been even more so but had to take care over some sensitive or personnel issues..... Hughes, FFP, Stadium options etc. Nevertheless, he still manages to give us a good steer on the many issues and opportunities facing our club. There's not many Chairman who would participate in something like this and be so open. I remain convinced that we are very lucky to have him as a shareholder and Chairman. In my opinion, those that abuse him on Twitter are not just out of order, they are delusional.

 

well even though we have lost neil warnock and thats our biggest loss i believe ollie does seem to have a great gift of bringing youngsters through so who knows if ollie hits the ground running next season we may well see us hitting the play offs

 

True, but I hope there won't be too many future failures that he's desperate to confess to us.
