Bosnian-Serb leaves the German's side after 17-year coaching relationship reportedly deteriorates following rift between the Anfield management duo. It is understood that the two coaches had ceased talking to each other during games and that Buvac had been excluded from tactical meetings. “Klopp and Buvac had a big falling out,” a Liverpool source told Record Sport . “And Buvac has been left completely out of the loop of late. “They stand apart in training, Buvac doesn't go to tactical meetings, and he is no longer involved in picking the team. In the past, he was the only one who had Klopp's ear. The relationship had broken down, and the players have been told Buvac is gone.”
Thinking about it, Klopp and Buvac would usually hug after we've scored. I don't remember that happening in the last few games
Yeah, read that too, but it's a wonder nobody in the media has sussed it out before now, it's **** timing and the club, Klopp and Buvac himself could have at least agreed to work out a deal whereby the news never came out until Thursday at the earliest.
BREAKING: Liverpool have dismissed reports that assistant manager Zeljko Buvac has quit the club – but he will be absent for the rest of the season, writes @JamesPearceEcho
Jurgen Klopp's assistant manager Zeljko Buvac will take a break from Liverpool first-team duties, the club have confirmed. Reports emerged on Monday morning that Buvac, also nicknamed 'the brain' by supporters, had quit his role as Klopp's assistant just two days before the Champions League semi-final second leg against Roma. But Liverpool say that is not the case and Buvac is spending some time away from the first-team environment, between now and the end of the season, for personal reasons. Liverpool's position is that Buvac remains an employee at Anfield and his position at the club is not affected by this absence. The club consider the matter private and will not make any further comment. Buvac has worked alongside Klopp for the best part of two decades, having also been assistant to the German during his spells with Mainz and Borussia Dortmund. More follows...
Lets not draw conclusions when we don't know exactly what's happening Our squad has been stretched with injuries recently
Buvac appears to be on the verge of leaving the club. It is understood Buvac has become increasingly distant & withdrawn around the club, & visibly less engaged during matches of late. ( Paul Joyce )
Buvac was furious with the goalkeeper coach John Achterberg in a game against Chelsea last November when the Londoners scored an equaliser while Liverpool were trying to bring on the substitute Adam Lallana & switch to a five-man backline. ( Paul Joyce )
For all we know the guy has an illness or something. I think theres quite a few jumping all over this in press and I just wonder about PAul joyce wrting for the times all over this like he's the total inside track. Just let it play out IMO.
Two draws is a very small sample set to draw any conclusions from, especially if you factor in that we also beat City twice in recent weeks. If he has "become increasingly distant & withdrawn around the club," it's likely to have been going on for a while, yet results haven't shown a marked downturn.
And factor in that those draws were also dependent on two of the most #bentasfuck referee performances the league has ever seen
It could be anything. Paul joyce seems very sure and is jumping all over it but showing a bit of true colours in that he's out to break the scoop for his own good. If he is wrong and the guy is actually ill or has depression or something then it shows something about Joyce. I don't know whats the story but it will eventually come out.
