If believing that Charlton will win on the last day of the season away at Rochdale is blind euphoria, then so be it.

I believe in Lee Bowyer and I trust in his ability to get the job done. Of course it is possible that we will fail, but I think victory is more likely and a play-off semi-final place is more than 60% likely now.
We are 10/1 on to finish in the top 6 according to Oddschecker. I make that about right.
If Plymouth win their game against Scunthorpe on Tuesday those odds might take a dent, but I still think we are more likely to beat Rochdale than draw or lose.

Should we get to the play-offs I reckon our form going in to them will mean we will do the bizzo and get promoted.

People don't generally flip flop on here. I will celebrate when we get promoted. We have done nothing yet. Yes Bowyer has done a great job and I applaud him for that. Loving your posts on the site that threatens people and insults their Family. Total transformation from the chameleon.

I’m afraid Paul May overstepped the Mark with the family insults and no way back for him from many as a result.

If we get to the play-offs, as I believe we will, we will have a much better chance of achieving promotion if Fosu is fit. With the play-offs probably starting a week after the Rochdale game it must be touch and go if we get him fit. We also need Reeves to get some sort of form back, and we are also a stronger attacking side with DaSilva at LB. With Reeves firing on all cylinders, and Fosu and DaSilva playing I'd back us against any of the others. Rochdale will be tough though.

If honest I didn't think we would win the game this weekend. We did. If honest I don't think we will beat Scunthorpe on Tuesday. I hope we do for two reasons. The first one is obvious which is it will give us a chance of the play offs. The second is that it will keep the league alive until the last day of the season. It's boring when you get to the end of the season and everything is decided already. For what it's worth I do think your entry into the final games is virtually guaranteed even if a trip to Wembley isn't. I know it's an obvious thing to say but out of the 5 teams still in the mix for the 4 places I actually think anyone of them could just as easily win the final game and go up. From what I've seen this season it is quite even at that end of the table.

I get where you are coming from regarding the excitement Greeny, but I won't deny that for me it took a tiny bit of the shine off our win against Blackburn to find out after full time that Plymouth had turned things around and also won.
Neither can I wish you good luck against Scunthorpe on Tuesday, as a Scunthorpe win would give us the best odds of remaining in the top 6 on the final day of the regular season.
But I can say if Plymouth do beat Scunthorpe on their own turf then fair play to you. We will likely have to win at Rochdale to be certain of extending our season.

This next week is going to have more twists and turns yet...

To be fair lardiman I wouldn't expect you to want us to win either. If the boot was on the other foot I'd be saying bollox to the end of season lottery and would hope we had qualified at the earliest opportunity. It's easy to want last day excitement if you are the one chasing the last ditch chance. Tuesday is as massive for you as it is for us. Bet most of you will be watching Sky and praying...............

Fair play Greeny.... but I really do not see any point in prayer?? We might as well strip naked and dance round a fire calling for help from Andrasta! Or the ancient Greenwich God Sir Chris Powell :)

The point of praying is that it makes some people feel better when they are in distress.
Doesn't really matter whether anybody is actually listening or not.
Making people feel better (comforted or consoled) in times of trouble or pain is one of the finest gifts religion can bestow.

Translation - it gives false hope.

Just as "Lourdes water" has about as much healing power as the stuff that comes out of your tap at home <steam>

There must be a God because he is the purveyor of miracles and he has turned @lardiman from a constant critic of Duchatelet and all things Charlton to Jeddez, Jonkool and Bexley Boy all in one. Hallelujah I believe.

Religious beliefs and practices (such as praying) can give great comfort to people who are grieving or suffering physically or mentally or emotionally.
If praying eases the pain, even a little, of somebody who is struggling with misfortune in their life, what harm is that doing?
It does not matter whether the prayer is heard or not if the very act of offering it helps the person who is praying cope with what ails them.

Occasionally during all of our lives things happen which can make us feel that there is no hope that the future will get any better.
For a great many people their faith helps them to overcome great personal hardships or tragedies.
What does it matter if that faith is groundless? The point is that it helps.

Anything that helps to make life worth living for people who would otherwise have no hope or perhaps no reason to be a part of civilised society anymore (to behave in a dignified and responsible manner) must surely be a good thing - even if it cannot be proven or quantified.

PS: Sorry, way off-topic I know. I won't add anything further along these lines in this thread.

    Ouch <whistle>

On a partially related note, it really is a deplorable site.

Its like an on line version of Care in the Community.
