No I'd not want McCarthy. If he did get us out of league 1, mid-table championship seems to be his limit now so that would be another inevitable manager change.
Aye it doesn't sound like the sort of takeover that you dream about but on the other hand as long as they've got a few pennies to invest in the team then we should do well.
We've just had a chairman who over spent to the point he had to sew his pockets shut, we don't want that again. It's not how much we spend it's how we spend it, we shouldn't need much spends to get out of this league so really hope that we don't spend much, but spend it right and address the problems.
That's the thing though, how many pennies do they have? Donald is quoted as saying that he'd spent 10 million on Eastleigh and he'd spend the same amount again, even though it's more than he ever intended. He, and anyone else involved in the consortium, is going to have spend much more than that in the long term.
Totally agree. Our best players have cost next to nothing. 1 million spend in league one should be enough to get us back to the Championship.
The Eastleigh guy may be the frontman and have some financial input but Sky are referring to the new owners as an international consortium. At the moment we have no idea who they are or how much they've got behind them.
Looks like a clean slate next was in. Starting in league 1. Pretty interesting few days/summer ahead.
Have they got enough money to get rid of Rodwell, get a new GK and offer all our youth players new contracts ? That will do for me short term (next couple of months)
In peace lads - you've given us a hell of a ride, but the bottom is that if this goes through, you'll be debt free. That's massive. You'll probably be hoping for a management team who care about the game. But who knows what a large debt free club will attract ...
Nah Joe moved to Pity Me Town last month. I’ll take the fact that short has gone and the debt has gone as good news. The rest I suppose will come out in the wash. Disappointed that Coleman has gone. Feel for him
Anyone got a link to something saying Short has wiped his debt? Not seen that anywhere other than here.
Coleman sacking is a strange one for me, like to know by who, and why. Seems like it was the club according to the Echo but what do they know. Surely he has only had enough time to assess the squad, and it was a very tall ask considering the situation we were in, now it will all start all over again, crazy way to run a business imo.
