We didn't need to prioritise either. We've got a three goal lead in CL, we could have just played a strong side against Stoke too.

can you explain just what would have been a stronger side?

as far as i can tell klopp is managing Milner

mane has a scan and is a risk

lovren is also.amanaging a back injury.

Robertson is the only one rested.

so.... did you want to see all 4 in? cos literally that was it.

we could have played klavan lb I suppose.

again if salah scores that sitter we win 1:0

If we're to be a big team we shouldn't be "prioritising" anything. Any successful team should be able to anticipate that the greater pressure will be at the pointy end of the season, and that is exactly when it needs its best players. Any rotation should be used earlier to keep the best players fresh when they are needed most, in the same way that a long distance runner has to reserve something for the final sprint to the line.
Easier said than done, I know - but it's what we going to have to find a way to do it if we want to compete at the top.

On the question of whether or not we have improved, then yes imo. Even if we only matched last season that consistency is an improvement on previous years, but of course on top of that we've had a great run in the CL, and made European football take notice of us again.

My point was only based on the premiership of course, in the bigger picture our improvement is obvious. We have done well in the CL even if (unlikely) we miss the final or later miss the CL trophy itself.

Missing the CL would be a real downer on our season. Because it keeps our roller coaster /in and out of CL scenarios going.

We are in a very position to get something tangible from the season. The CL trophy itself looks within grasp.

There is a few weeks until the CL final (26 May) so if we do progress then we can put the CL to one side and concentrate on battering the **** out of Chelsea

Let’s put the Chelsea threat to bed as soon as we can. Of course spurs are still in the mix but it looks like they will be able to achieve that 75 points threshold. One point would be sufficient for us to put Chelsea out of their misery. Brighton might just need one point to be 100% safe but I wouldn’t want to get to the last day needing a win.

Look we are well past the point of worrying. we will need 3 points on the last day now.

Lets just face that fact right now.

we have ****ed it twice and we have to go to cheslea who will be in flying form and likely to get a win. This has to be learned from. it was not learned from after the erupoa campaign and here we are again scraping along more focused on the CL than doing the job thats in front of us.

I can assure anyone who wants to know milner is being seriously managed by klopp and won't play v chelsea..

    We're going to smash Chelsea

Even with a bent ref awarding them 3 points we still then have another game

We now can only hope spurs mess up v watford (lightening is more likely to strike but still)

as a draw or loss for spurs would at least keep us in some hope of 3rd.

huddersfield need a point... one... they play cheslea

West brom are not yet relegated. they play spurs.

    Spurs play newcastle at home.

Really IMO LFC will be trying to get to 75 points now as a target. 3 points off last game.

southampton have brought everyone form 11th down into mathematical risk of relegation. that means huddersfield must get a result or two out of very hard fixtures and it means brighton are certinly not safe.

If we get 75 points then cheslea will be able to get max 75. We need to not lose by a large margin or something thick. Spurs can get 80 points. so they would need to lose one and draw one to be on 75...

    SO realistically.

LFC have ****ed this right up. 4 points absolutely thrown away.

Need a result v cheslea AWAY to hand them off, draw = 73 for us 67 for them with 2 for them to play. I would not put us even close to being able to draw the game as we will have to put everything into wednesday.

If we had the 4 points we have thrown away we would already be in party mode.

Whatever happens on Wednesday it will feel like After the Lord Mayor Show. This will be one of these occasions when we say: let’s keep it tight as a point is sufficient to get us into the CL. But I doubt that Klopp has it in him to go for the point. So I think it could well be to the last day of the season. How can we be THAT confident of the 3 points when we had draws against the worst 2 teams of the league? Our history of getting the wins required under pressure is not that great is it?

As we can't play that way and have proved we can't many times... all we can do is rely on the fact that cheslea simply must win the game.

As they must win we need to hit them on the break in a very similar way to how we hit city on break and got 3-0.... we set up in our own half with press and then just forced them into errors and scored.

We need to score a couple of goals minimum to even consider a draw there.

I would say our history last year shows we got results when it mattered but lets be clear we will need 3 points last day.

you are factually correct but our trend after CL games is absolutely ****. they are doing ok lately, only ok mind but we have to be respectful of their quality.

They lost to spurs and that effectively killed thier chances but we are doing our damnedest to give them a break.

They beat burnley, swanes and southampton, only drew with west ham. .... its not like they are doing great but they still have home advantage and a damned good team with lots of subs compared to us who are at the end of our squad.
