I so hope you are right Marcos. I’ve found myself virtually not bothered about recent results in the hope of something better to come. There needs to be for me because the last fifteen years are taking their toll on me as a supporter. Some may see that as plastic or whatever but I’m being honest
We talk about limited budgets etc. I would like to see the sacho signing clarified. We didn’t complain much at the time, spending a couple of million signing him up permanently because we thought we had lots of money to spend. Now it looks like an awful move. Everyone knew he was crap yet we wasted a wad of valuable cash on him and a new contract. Hardly played all season and rightly so. We’re we contractually obliged to sign him like Pontus? Hopefully that’s the reason, otherwise Orta and Co are complete fools
Ben has kept me going tbh, some weeks have been desperately difficult to be excited about going but he is undeterred - he just loves it. Sometimes I feel for him for choosing my team but he has been a good lesson to me in undying optimism and I would desperately love to see a successful season for him more than anything. I know we have clashed a couple of times but I do get what you are saying, I just couldn’t see how constant criticism of the club could help (and I certainly don’t just mean you).
It’s probably easier for Ben in ways to enjoy Leeds at the moment, he wouldn’t remember us being much better than we are. I’m struggling because having watched the three great Leeds teams (mostly on tv of course) I’m really struggling with the present crop. The most irritating thing is knowing the bulk of the players don’t care one jot unlike you, me and the rest here and elsewhere
I would guess that Ben probably likes in order of importance. 1. Quality lone time with his dad. 2. The atmosphere of the south stand. 3. Following lufc. Nothing wrong with that and a credit to you. Where I would disagree is in blindly accepting the **** and pr bollix Rad has thrown over you as a st holder.. He promised to be better than what went before but isn’t.’ The team will be relegated next term if he hasn’t learned. The season will be over in August if ph is still here. Sorry but I want more than a day out with the lads.
Looking at our signings, ignoring the younger ones, the signings that I’m pleased with are players like Forshaw £4.6m, Saiz 3.2, Pontus 3.6. The group that cost between £1m and £3m (7 players) contains only one I rate (Alioski at 2.2) and one I’ve no opinion on (Roberts) We need to be spending £5m-ish a player on new additions (more maybe when it’s a striker). Lower priced players (unless very young or old players st end of careers) tend not to work
Maybe but I still the pain in his eyes with every defeat. It’s the optimism that I can’t kill for him, the first thing he did this morning was bring me a coffee and tell me the transfer rumours involving Leeds. Next, I can’t wait until I can drive so I can drive us to Leeds, it is constant. 20/20’s summary of how he feels could have come from me, my hope is more cautious than twelve months ago but I need to give Rad reasonable time to get it right, my heart and head tell me he is not another Cellino.
Saiz is off and has a terrible attitude. Pontus believes his own hype and won’t be here after the wc. Alioski is ****.
The plusses I see to this season are rad has made tons of mistakes which he surely won’t repeat. He’s had a full season to learn from. He’s seen the Wolves model and how it should be done. If he fails to get it right next year, he’ll look like an idiot. I don’t think he is one but next season will be last chance saloon for him in my books
Not quite sure how I blindly accept any PR bollix? I support Leeds United and want to do so positively. I can see the good and bad of what has gone on, just choose not to moan all the time. Do I hope for better? Of course
We all hope for better. But I for one don’t believe it’s going to happen under this set up and haven’t since day one. Thus far and on the only measure that matters I see no signs of being proved wrong... The first team set up is a shambles and the players are nowhere near good enough. Worse than that they are as bad as under gfh as our final league position will prove beyond argument.
Getting far too much practice as being wrong would be so much more enjoyable for everyone including me.
Not seen enough of him to say. But he does not seem to be all over the press spouting ****e or sulking cos he don’t get his own way and his most visible trait isn’t to throw himself to the ground.
As Eire says, I have felt disengaged recently, not even bothered to watch the last 3 games as everything is a dead rubber and has been for weeks. I wanted PH to be a great signing, someone young and up and coming who had gone under the radar afterall we paid half a mill for him. Its so far proved to be a catastrophy. When MM left Ipswich I was praying he was coming, but recent signs show that potentially we have him next season, but I hope Im wrong. If I’m right I hope he can turn it around but he would need to get rid of a dozen players who clearly wont play for him. For that alone I think its been catastrophic as many players have gone backwards or not even turned up.
Coleman leaves Sunderland after relegation - its starts Barnsley have picked up more points (14) than Leeds (13) since Paul Heckingbottom was appointed. Barnsley have also picked up 3 more points than Leeds in 2018.
