Wagner sounded like he was about to cry. Massive opportunity missed today. I think you are right, can't see them doing anything in the next three games.
Our GD is so much better than theirs, even 3 would probably do, as long as City don’t completely hammer us!
Playing Arsenal at home has been a bit of a gimme this season, especially recently. But now that it's become Wenger's final league game (and possibly final ever game) with Arsenal, you'd like to think the players would want to give him a good send off. Not having a EL final to distract them would help.
Which is just what I have been saying for weeks. Catching Huddersfield & Swans gives the team the best chance of finishing outside of the bottom three......... even if it has to come down to goal difference!
A draw and a win could be called momentum.....we have pulled ourselves back into the race...but we now have to build on it. Are we the dark horse unexpectedly coming up on the rails or about to fall at the last. Must build on this feeling and get the run of results that we have been unable to get all season. And the award for stating the bleeding obvious goes to.....
Well yes. No-one is disputing that. In fact, assuming that WBA take up one of the three places, it doesn't just give us a chance of staying up; it actually keeps us up. The dispute is whether we're capable of catching them. Even after yesterday, I'm not confident.
Here's some percentages. please log in to view this image 3 points is down, 5 points is up, 4 points no one knows. (probably)
And here's what he money says: Betfair latest implied percentages. 87.5% Stoke 40.8% Southampton 37.7% Huddersfield 25.0% Swansea 0.2% C Palace 6.6% West Ham 2.1% Brighton 0.1% Newcastle Vin
I've been saying 3 wins for weeks it feels like and I'm sticking with still needing two. Hudders will beat Arsenal on the final day.
I think you are right. I want Arsenal to lose Thursday so they have the best possible chance of winning the league game. They have to play Burnley, who they are fighting with for position.
Think I'm right in saying that the only scenarios where we are safe going into the City game require us to win our next 2 whilst Swansea or Huddersfield lose their next 2. Easy.
I’m still going for the “no more points for Huddersfield” scenario, in which case 3 points from 3 games will see us safe.
I can see Huddersfield getting a draw at home to Arsenal, though you'd hope the latter would want to give Wenger a rousing send off.
